When on he is super skilled almost freakish at times but really fades in and out of games. I liked him but consistency was an issue, even over four quarters.

Good to see Mitch finally make his debut for the Dogs. Good luck Mitch.

Good luck to him (except in about 4 week’s time when they play us).

The only player to have left the club recently who won't be spewing.

Best of luck to him!

Loved Mitchy and glad he gets an opportunity.

Good luck hanners

Best of luck Mitch! The old darl at the Woodend Mitre 10 has nothing to talk to me bout now you’ve left... so thanks for that.

Exactly the sort of player the Dogs don't need. They are in real trouble and 2016 is looking more and more like an aberration.

This has aged beautifully.

Yep I was devastated when he left but now I'm fine with it. Truth be told I kind of actually forgot about him until I heard he was playing tomorrow night.

Good luck to him, I hope he plays well.

Yep that goal against geelong is still on my favourites. The look on Chris Scott's face is even better.

As annoying as BT can often be, he absolutely nails this commentary.

I thought it was not that great to be honest. The Wheatley commentary was much better , then there's the Titanic mix that surpasses them all

Agreed. A good outcome for him. But given dees forward structure and strategy i think there was no room for him and fritsch.

Mitch was a bit hot and cold but fritsch has become a 4 quarter threat and is more vetsatile.

I caught a little bit of the Dogs v GWS VFL game the other day. I was really surprised by his size. Much bigger and taller than I remember. Looking forward to seeing him again tonight to confirm or realign my view.

I liked Mitch but he did just seem to keep getting injured. Wish him well.

You have to handle it to the Cat supporting Whately for that call. If I was commentating that and my team was about to face certain finals elimination it would sound something like “ [censored], [censored]! miss it you [censored] “

All the players with whom I have serious doubts [censored] themselves last night in the spotlight . . . Bruce (deary, deary me . . . their version of Chris Dawes, only much worse), Cordy (doesn't get to enough contests to kill the ball), Duryea (c-grader that played in a premiership surrounded by really good players), Hannan, Martin, Naughton, Schache (a gamble that hasn't paid off and shouldn't play another AFL game), JJ (what has happened to him?), West, Scott. Naughton still has time on his side, but the others either won't or can't improve. Their only first choice player not available last night, who makes a significant difference, is English. They have a respectable mid-field bunch, but field seriously flawed talls in both the back and front half.

One of their better midfielders in Dunkley was not available. Would he have made the difference? Probably not, but you went early on the Bulldogs are in real trouble and I don't think it's justified.

Agree AF. I wouldnt be writing them off yet after 1 bad half against a great team.

That midfield is still incredible (despite losing Dunkley) and will beat most teams. Their youngsters look good and their support players are good enough.

In saying all that... Queanbeyan Demons analysis of their bad players is accurate too.

Naughton - despite his irritating coiffure - is an outstanding talent. But you're right about Bruce - and his hairdo is even more nauseating.

Back to Mitch...showed a lot of what he did with us.

Missed an easy set shot which I said to my Tiges mate he would.

Had some nice cameos but went missing for a lot of the game.

He is a downhill skier, when the going gets tough he disappears rarely puts his body on the line and went missing in action.

I always said to others he is what Ray Jordan used to call a Jib.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
