Are we still going for Polec or is that off the table?

Merrett is there any substance in it?

We still after Ben.Brown and Isaac.Smith?

Who else are we after ? Tarrant, Hurley maybe?

Out of interest, who would be your preference out of Cameron, Brown and Wright?

Brown Cameron's on too much and Wright hasn't shown anything.

Mihocheck and Gunston

Both would be good but it wopuld have to be Gunston kicks more goals. Can't see Collingwood letting Mihocheck go.

Would definitely look at Hurley as the linkman/swingman if possible

Apparently Saints and Bombers are into Caldwell from GWS. I hope we throw our hat in the ring if he wants to come home to Vic. I’m a fan, got potential to be a well rounded midfielder.

Would we go big for Jeremy Cameron?

I think not only do we need a big forward, we need a big signing! need some way to sell some hope to members that 2021 is gunna be better.

Essendon probably thinking the same think at this point. I don’t know why we wouldn’t at least make a pitch.

Talented but being a touch underwhelming for mine and it's a harder sell to crack our midfield than the teams chasing him. I think we'd have to trade someone out to show him a path to games (and to free up the cash and picks). Probably cost our earliest pick this year and more, I'd probably rather give JT a chance in the draft

Agree. If we can shed some TPP by moving on some players that in my opinion are surplus to our needs in Tmac and Brayshaw, we should go hard for Cameron.

I think there is no question that Brayshaw will be on the table if clubs ask about him.  Cameron is a good player, I doubt we are in the mix for him but who knows the Giants need to start worrying about losing young players that are early picks due to paying to much to keep players, they might be prepared to lose Cameron and keep 2-3 developing players instead of these kids looking elsewhere.

Agree on Brayshaw, not certain on cameron. I know he is a good player but would prefer someone with a bit more aggresion. That said would be happy to do that swap.

Mihocek is out of contract so if Collingwood can't afford him which they can't unless they move on someone they can't just "not let him go" because he will just join another club that will give him a payday through the pre season draft and Collingwood get nothing. If we move on Preuss and Tmac we will have enough money for Cameron, that would be my play. Not keen on Ben Brown at all because he wouldn't fit well with Weid, both are immobile full forwards, we need a mobile CHF to go with Weid. If we can't get a Cameron or Gunston I'd be fine with backing in Tmac to slim down and take back that position.

SEN reporting Carlton are "keen" on De Goey and have room for one more big name after Williams and Saad.

What an efficient period that may be for them if they can get them all over the line. Although i am sure it would create some cap issues.

Hopefully we can pull off another missing piece of the puzzle this period.

Which teams below us on the ladder are you most worried about for 2021?

Collingwood would rather [censored] in their hands and clap then allow De Goey to walk to the old enemy

Polec no go.

Nothing heard about Merrett.

Smith a very good chance to be a Demon. Brown a chance, but not a big one yet - Price is reasonable, but injuries a barrier.

Don't know we'll do much other than Smith tbh. We apparently just don't have the wriggle room atm.

If we're right at the edge of our cap, surely we're doing everything in our power to jettison some of the deadwood elsewhere? Just cannot see how this list recovers to even challenging for a decent finals position with the pieces we have now. Seems like extremely poor list management if we've backed ourselves into a spot where we cant even make finals with zero room to bring quality players in during the off season or even shed players that aren't required.

I don't know if we're right at the egde, don't know enough specifics, sorry! Just know we don't have the space for a big fish type of player currently. I mean, there could be a player that requests a trade out that we don't see coming, but as far as I've heard we're more looking at decent free agents atm rather than any particular big trade target. I only ever hear a few bits and pieces tho, so quite likely there's plenty going on I have absolutely no idea about, this time of year everything is a bit up in the air somewhat.

My opinion is that the feeling is the improvement will come more from off field things next year.

Disappointed re Polec. Do have any info re what blocked that move?  Was it the money he wanted, what North wanted in exchange or just a lack of interest on our part?

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
