Playing very risky football on a windy day spells trouble.

Petracca kicking across goal

Lots to be fixed. We’re just zoning back way too far and letting them walk it in their F50

Dogs are on big time today.

The funny thing is that i don’t think they are.. we are just off big time today. the dogs are keeping us in this with their poor use.

We should have 3 goals but it still feels like we should be 3 goals down.

Their premier players are on top: Hunter 10 touches, Macrae 9, Smith 8, Dunkley 7, Bont 6.

Us? Viney 7, Brayshaw 6, Petracca 4, Oliver 3.

We're losing clearances despite them rucking midfielders against Preuss for part of the quarter.

Their switching means we're struggling to defend the middle of the ground, and their pressure means we're struggling to move the ball forward.

Real worry signs right here.

Looks quite windy dees need to take that into account when kicking not try to pin point a target, run and carry would be my suggestion

A few players need to bloody wake up. Fritta, Hibberd, Harmes and Trac to name a few.

Not a lot of connection between the players - in marked contrast to our opposition. Dogs looking very good, and all over the ground.

Signs are bad when disposal and tackling are off. They spread effectively from the clearance and we can’t. Fix those things and we are ok.

We got away with it, happy to only be 7 down. Just start winning some contested footy. It's also really obvious that they are switching to beat our zone let's not just keep watching them do it.

At least he’s getting it.

Does nothing but turns it over. Dead set the bloke thinks he's playing rugby union.

No point getting the pill if you barely do anything with it.

Honestly we need to pull our finger out urgently or this will be a shellacking. They are destroying us both inside and on the turnover. Free players galore. Can’t keep the ball in our forward half. Got nothing from Oliver or Trac this quarter and Viney might as well play for the Dogs with how often he delivers them the ball.

Lucky to be this close structures aren't working need to change something.

Good job goodwin. Letting Macrae, Hunter, Bontempelli and Smith get as much of the footy as they please. Stick a tagger on one of them as set a defensive mindset you hack of a coach.

lucky to not be down further

Viney - can clean up his disposals been very sloppy

Lever - for the love of God please get some aggression about you. Looks lost?

Need to start playing tighter on Hunter

Looks pretty swirly out there. Kicking across the ground is risky.

Absolutely.  Skills from both have been below par.

However, he can't be taking that option in these conditions unless it's a 50/50 at a bare minimum, and he put it down Hunter's throat.  He needs to be better in that situation.

What a sloppy game. Wind is crazy here, not really sure who it favours as it's changing direction every minute.

Some of the umpiring calls have been horrible our skills look like they cannot cope with the wind

Is there any chance our small and medium forwards could put a bit of pressure on the Doggies inside 50?

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
