So much talent in our team but so little system. Doubts as to if Goodwin can coach must be growing.

There is hardly a player in this side that is playing his best football. That’s the coaches job and it’s not happening.

  • Demonland changed the title to POSTGAME: Rd 04 vs Geelong

Cats are so clean.

If only we could find space and hit targets we’d be a half decent team.

Reckon Salem could show some urgency? Sprint the 50 and kick the [censored] ball early!!

not wait for 30 seconds and kick to a 3-1

We played poorly.  Geelong just sweated on our mistakes, which we continuously made for them.  Even still, we had a kick to win it!  Some things to like, but our system especially forward was terrible.

Poorly selected.
Poorly coached.
No skill.
Dumb. Don’t touch balls on goal line. Don’t put ball over the boundary.
No game plan.

It’s frustrating out only goals come from player brilliance and not structure.  The boys looked confused inside 50, they don’t know where to run, where to stand, where to block etc.

this has been happening for two years now!.

Salam is absolutely wasted down back, he should be a high forward or is leading up and delivering to the forwards.

Goodwin must go!

All I see in my head is Fritsch dropping a chest mark, 20m out dead in front, with no cats within 4M of him, in the first half.

We are mentally weak, dumb and still have no idea what to do when we go forward.

He has to go Goodwin, how can you justify that performance.

Let them chip their way through our [censored] weak grid for 4qtrs. Any other coach would have pressed them up to prevent this but not our mastermind.

Goodwin has to implement a way to goal sooner rather than later.

We lose the same way every time, which is an indictment on the coach.

Nicely entrenched in the bottom 4 where we clearly belong.

Our coach is truly a disgrace. I was waiting to see the team selections in action and boy was I right in my suspicious. Jetta for Lockhart, a miss. Played Hannan and AVB and Fritsch and Melksham which just makes no sense.

No second tall forward even tho both Weid and Jackson are fit.
Back line is also a [censored] show. People can have a go at Omac all they like, but he can actually defend. Joel Smith gives us nothing. How many times were we mismatched down back because we didn’t go in tall enough?

I am so disappointed with our game plan and selections. A fully fit list and this is the [censored] we put on the field.

The whole footy world thinks we are a poor club.

I think we are over-rated.

The team we put on the park today was as good as we can expect all year.

Yuk.

It would have been a travesty if we'd won that.

Geelong just toyed with us and nearly stuffed it up, they couldn't have played worse and we still didn't look like it.

We have so little polish, it's never going to happen with this team.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.

  • POSTGAME: North Melbourne

The Demons are finally back at the MCG and finally back on the winners list as they continually chipped away at a spirited Kangaroos side eventually breaking their backs and opening the floodgates to run out winners by 6 goals.
