By going on the MFC website you can access the plan.ย Here is a snippet.

Well they've planted their flag regarding the new facilities, stating they will begin construction by 2023 and it will be in the MCG precinct.

I like the ambitions overall, some will see them as unachievable I see them as aspirational.

ย

I really like that the home base is on there.ย

The isย much we can't control - particularly the premierships - and i feel the club would know they will be judged very harshly on this, so will want to go easy on things that can't be achieved.ย

Soย this indicates to me that they think this is very realistic.ย

It's nut up or shut up time now.

I wouldn't expect another failed year to save the board and CEO regardless of this plan.

It does make me a little warm and gooey though.

Hope it comes to fruition.

Go Dee's.

I like the high expectations they have.ย  It would be easy to aim low, and some supporters might see some as unachievable, but we've got to aim high.ย  They are targets I think we can manage.

It'sย bold andย i love it.

Not simply aim high, as many have done so before (mere words) ย  but aggressively compete as hard as we can to achieve these Crucial areas of building this club.ย

More than Half a Century has been wasted in the thinking that the Mcc will give us this or that.ย  Wrong.

ย

We have to walk alone and still be a major tenant of the G'.ย  The Original Footy club of the 'G'.

This was my wife's message to me when we were trying to have kids and all I wanted to do was go to sleep.

Interesting line towards the end of the Hun's coverage.

ย

"Bartlett said improving facilities was the clubโ€™s โ€œNo. 1 off-field priorityโ€ but while there was โ€œmovement at the stationโ€ he could not elaborate further."

And this is The Age's write up. Looks like Pert had a chat to Niall before tonight's announcement.

Rumblings tell me there is renewed development in the Jolimont plan but still unlikely to happen. The East Melbourne resident bubble won't stand for it. The alternative is a new development as part of major Richmond Station development in the works. Eddie actually hinted on this recently.

Just like aย 5 year plan butย 20% better.ย

Reallyย like the ambitious goals and core values. Simple targets that the whole club can aim at.

It's about bloody time we made a declaration like this.

As Pertย states, it all flows from results on the footy field.

Our board are astute operators, movement on facilities wouldnโ€™t be in there unless they are close to concluding on a doable solution.

Big call, but I suppose I thought the same about Brendan Galeโ€™s plans and they succeeded.ย

The simpletons love this; but in the same breath, they most likely laughed at Richmond's strategic plan.

the between the lines in here is interesting;

- pert has time to โ€˜start constructionโ€™ on homebase. ย nothingย in there about when the deal gets done, its all about the first brick that gets laid

- goody has no time... notย lots of wiggle room when you say โ€˜finals every yearโ€™. ย the Presย canโ€™t miss the first clear goalย and not take a scalpย

It's ambitious but if we're not striving to be the best then what's the point? Aim high, go for it.

Great. About time we set standards

Now stick to it and make us proud

4 years....2 Flags i say :)

I see a lot of aims but I can't see a lot of strategic planning?

What are the actual strategies that are going to give us an edge?ย

Richmond were recruiting for speed for a long time and finally got it together in 2017. Their playing group were also incredibly inclusive, something that spread through the whole club. That's an on field and off field example on how they've built themselves.

Without any details it's more strategic aims than strategic plans

Love it.ย  The time forย mediocrity is over.ย  As much as Paul Roos was fairly instrumental in turning the ship around, the aim I most commonly heard him talking about was being competitive and building a team that could go deep into finals.ย  I understand Roos was both starting from a lower base and had a shorter term horizon, but just making and being competitive in finals doesn't cut it for me.ย  From 1987 to 2006, the MFC had a great period of being competitive in finals without bringing home a premiership.

Don't see why we have to wait patiently to keep building our list and playing off in finals for a number of years to put it out there that winning a premiership is what this is all about.ย  I'm so glad the club leadership continued to put it out there, as it would be so easy to retreat back into our shell after 2019 and that would be such a mistake.ย  Aiming to winย premierships is a winner's mentality and we need to have that for the players to build the kind of belief that it will take to get us to that goal.

ย

Iโ€™d love some detail on how the club plans toย achieveย these lofty targets.

At the moment I have no confidence in them getting even close, based on what I know they think will get them there.

Just more fluff sadly.

I would have liked a fith goal - show MFC fans respect by communicating properlyย (eg about injuries and important events like AGMs)
