Brian Cook of Geelong is a very very very good operator, and has done enormous things for WCE and Geelong. Future AFL CEO unless he sees it as a demotion.

Not sure how WB did it, but being in an area that ticks every box imaginable -- multi-cultural, changing demographics, historically underprivileged -- makes it a lay-down misere compared to what we're working with: zero starting point, public land, bugger-all land, trees, NIMBYs, etc.

Brian is 65yo and retiring this year 'Mazer'...won't be going on to the AFL now.

i find it highly suspicious that Hocking was first with the Cats, went over to the AFL and is now back at the Cattery, and wouldn't you know another stage of funding gets ticked off on.

I doubt there's any connection.  The AFL isn't funding the improvements.

I can Never understand why MFC members don’t get it!

There are no votes in providing money to the MFC.

There are lots of votes in Geelong and surrounding areas at both state and federal level. 
MFC members are low in number and spread out over numerous electrets. 
We are very low on the totem pole. We will get scraps from another project when it suits the government.

Yes. Similar to how the majority of the money supply is created by banks when they make loans. 

As for Government spending, the Treasury instructs its central bank to credit/mark up Exchange Settlement Account balances of the appropriate bank and numbers go up on a screen. If they do this, can they use Olympic Park oval in a shared capacity with CFC? It would still be a bit of a walk between the admin/training facility and Goachs paddock. 
 

i reckon they could use the car park to the SE  off AAMI with an underground car park instead of the Proposed SW as it has a larger footprint to work with and is closer to Goschs paddock.

This would be a huge compromise and not something we should do. We’d clearly just be the crammed in poor cousins to Collingwood.

The entire point of having the club together is for them to be together. Not training on the other side of a stadium.

The access is rubbish. There’s no scope for future development. Where’s the ability to host family days or open trainings? Yet alone the dream of one day getting the same privileges as Richmond and Collingwood to host reserves and women’s games.
