Not true, we had Stynes and Lyon around when we appointed Neeld.

Along with “Chuckles” Connolly and “Whiteboard” Schwabby, both Dees old boys.

Some contacts would be appropriate.

Wrong - it has it’s origin in a Celtic harvest festival dating back 2000 years.

Word is starting to get out now about the Dees chasing Yze, I think to replace Jennings' role in strategy though not 100% sure.

Sam McClure has mentioned it now on SEN, possibly because Hawthorn's year is done and moves can be made.

Very highly rated and has risen through the ranks quite quickly. Would be a fantastic get should it happen.

Who’s ur source Lord? How do we know it’s correct information ?????

Ha ha ha Only joking would be good to get him back to the club.

Thanks for sharing the info.

Would absolutely love this to happen!

That's super

Good chat

Tried to write Yze but my spell check said YES!

That settles it.

Yze first started at the Hawks as goal kicking coach and worked his way up to his current role which is head of match day strategy and opposition. Regardless of who he played for, Yze is exactly what we need, the Hawks are coached extremely well.

He was always super competitive and has been working in a winning culture, so it's a big YES from me.

Would be a massive upgrade on anything remotely resembling a forwards/strategy/specialist assistant we’ve had in eons.

I would love it to happen but skepticism is tempering my expectations.

The ideal candidate to help all our one sided players with their deficiencies....oh wait.

You're all going to @ me but I was never a fan.  No right foot, selfish, and worst of all, he wore a glove ?

But you can't be an assistant to Clarkson without learning a ton.  Should Yze be hired I'd be happy to be proven wrong.

Don't let your bias get in the way of a good coach, the hawks are regarded as the best team to work out the game plan of great sides and beat them, examples coming top 4 last year with a  ordinary list and also beating West Coast at their own home, West Coast  are at the top of the game at the moment. Adam was one of the best kicks ever to play the game,  his kicking into the forward 50  was first class. He started at the hawks as a kicking coach, they have been the best  kicking team in the time he has been there, When he first started there I thought what a great idea hiring a great kick to teach players how to kick, he has done a great job at that, so he has all the coaching  expertise we need kicking and hitting targets up forward, also he will be taking Jennings old job, our game plan fell apart this year.

They have the best kicking skills in the AFL.  A big 'Yes' from me.

If he is to be Strategy Coach, I hope he can do the goal kicking coach thing on the side.  He also had a beautiful kick going i50.

In fact, he could teach the likes of Oliver, Harmes, Viney, Hunt, Brayshaw a thing or two about kicking.  Yze was blessed with natural balance which can't really be learnt.  But I'm a firm believer that poise and composure can be learnt.  From that comes better decision making.

None of them will kick like Yze but imagine if even half of those guys improved their i50 kicking skills by even 50%.

I hope Goodwin is having a big say in who the new coaches are.  It seems he made 'captain calls' on the current coaching panel.  I just hope we don't go too far the other way.

Sign off on appointments is required by higher ups but he needs to be 100% sure he can work with them and he can deliver a united and cohesive coaching panel.

They really don't anymore...they did, but not now.

Hawthorn had Derm and Dunstall running the place when Clarko came on board. That is what distinguishes them. We have barely any Melbourne people involved with the club anymore. Helps with the connection to the club.

you mean like when Lyon, Stynes hired Neeld and Craig?

As an aside, I used to work with Yze’s niece. Lovely person.

She was a huge Demons fan and said that her entire family loves the club - I believe this extended to her uncle Adem.

Get this done.

No one would play better for us than Oooze when he was within 2 weeks of contract renewal.

Lyon was around for 5 minutes while Jimmy was sick. Don't distort the truth.

Shame Adem's children are avid Hawks fans

The fact that Yze is at Hawthon learning the craft under Clarkson excites me more than the fact that he is a Melbourne man.

There was an article floating around which I read a while ago. It was about Yze’s time as Hawthorn’s goal kicking coach and how we had 5 or 6 different types of kicks. Many of the players spoke highly of Yze and how he turned their kicking around to make them much better kicks.

Getting him is a must.

Just wonder what Yze would think about it. Apart from Jackson the MFC administration has been very poor. Yze would know ofcourse.

When did Sam McClure talk about this? Stuie posted about this in his Facebook Group but no link was provided.

  • PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

With both sides precariously positioned ahead of the run home to the finals, only one team involved in Sunday’s clash at the Adelaide Oval between the Power and the Demons will remain a contender when it’s over.  On current form, that one team has to be Melbourne which narrowly missed out on defeating the competition’s power house Collingwood on King's Birthday and also recently overpowered both 2024 Grand Finalists. Conversely, Port Adelaide snapped out of a four-game losing streak with a win against the Giants in Canberra. Although they will be rejuvenated following that victory, their performances during that run of losses were sub par and resulted in some embarrassing blow out defeats.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • PREGAME: Port Adelaide

The Demons are set to embark on a four-week road trip that takes them across the country, with two games in Adelaide and a clash on the Gold Coast, broken up by a mid-season bye. Next up is a meeting with the inconsistent Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
