No surprise given Roughy and Buddy and co were at the MCG on Friday night. I suspect even if we offered an extension he has had enough of the MFC clusterfluck he has witnessed this year. I would love to hear his real thoughts on how we have ended up where we are.

Has been an excellent deal for the club. Many have criticised him at times but the real criticism rests in the fact that in years 2 and 3 no player pushed him out of the side.

Thanks Jordan

Will be as big of a loss as Losing Vince was. Hope we pickup some seasoned players this off season

He’ll end up having played 319 games at an average of 21 games a season, it’s an amazing effort. I was super stoked when we got him and hope he stays on in a coaching capacity. Thanks for your service Jordan.

Well played Jordan Lewis. Hope some of our boys are jealous and strive to be as successful as Lewis. Thanks for your service Jordan.

For what it's worth, I always liked him, as a person and as a footballer. Wish him luck in whatever he chooses to do in the future.

A big thank you to JL.  He came to the club and added real value on and off the field.  He retires a legend of the game, and a valued contributor to the MFC.  Sorry we couldn’t get you a flag this year, Jordie.

Maybe not. Might bring his best mate across to work in List Management and other areas, while he is an Assistant Coach.

Then again he may go off to his Winery and do some Media as well.

I wished that we had Jordan at the start of his career the type of person that would have been a leader of our club with his professionalism which we needed in our years of misery.

Hoping that he stays on as a full time assistant coach.

Where would you go

His First year was fantastic and helped build some much needed culture experience. I think his last 2 years have been just ok, but its the bigger picture stuff, and i love whenever a player with great experience and great success says they want to come to our club. its the greatest publicity you can get.

Thanks Jordy, while i think you will always be a Hawk, once a Demon, always a Demon.

he played down back and organised our defence

he played in the vfl and organised the midfield

he played up forward and organised our forward set-up

we'll miss him as he's one of very few 'football brains' that we have on our side

Great pickup for virtually nothing.  Nominated our club and got us up to the preliminary in 2018.  Great bloke on and off the field.  Leadership and good footy brain. A true champion.

Media.  Coaching.  Relaxing.  Whatever 2020 brings, he has had a great career.  Hope he remembers his last few years with the Dees and might be back one day.

That is true, I still respect his opinion on team direction and actual circumstances. I'd give him the nod to replace Goodwin, if it were a possibility - he'd be a really good brain and must have heaps of insight either side of the fence.

Lewis' MFC experience (alongside his incredible career at Whoreform) places him in the perfect position (if he is interested) to immediately replace Goodwin - full stop. All of the wrongs of all possibilities have been witnessed, mulled upon, tolerated and manipulated to some extent on-field player-to-player, and at the training track, being loyally supportive of the Club, and humble yet professionally astute with mentoring/instructing despite his own physical ageing and recent shortcomings. His mind and his communication are ideal for the job of MFC Coach and who better to right the wrongs of 2019?

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
