OUT: May (inj), Baker, Viney, Jones, OMac, Lewis, Hunt, Dunkley

IN: Hore, Stretch, ANB, Lockhart, Keilty, Jordon, Bedford, Chandler

Let's have a look at some things we haven't seen, because I've seen enough of the same old this year.

(Half joking btw)

not sure I agree on your changes, but luved your last line

Out:  Goodwin

In:  Ayres, Ratten, Parkin or Joyce (Lewis as assistant and budding apprentice).

In: whoever is free for a stroll.

Out: anyone needing surgery.

Lets play backs mid, forwards back and mids forward. Gawn to rove Spargo's taps.

I'd be most keen to see one of Viney, Jones or Brayshaw out of the side, to see what that does to our midfield mix.

But I doubt that will happen. We'll probably just see Hore replace May and maybe Wagner or Baker get dropped for another fringe player.

Love it. Really shake things up a bit.

I’m worried that with our growing injury list it could end derailing our season

Ayres? Parkin? Joyce?

Wow! Blast from the past!

Black shorts home, white shorts away...

Couple of games left, no results matter, see what some kids can do...

Out: everyone with the slightest niggle to get ready for a full preseason...

Yes you can have Viney and Jones but Brayshaw was one of our best today. Doubt they will drop the Co Captains.

Goodwin out.

Youngsters into the 22.

Viney’s Vacuum or whatever he called it, would be an improvement on anything Goodwin is capable of thinking up. Just think the bloke (Goodwin, that is) might be found wanting on an IQ test!

We really have to be very careful with our team selections now that our season’s well and truly cooked.

We don’t want some hack journo with an agenda coming up with a half-cocked conspiracy theory based on us dropping an out of form player that we’re tanking for draft picks.

Won’t happen as media says we are irrelevant.

May will probably still be picked based on the football department's form this year - "He's a veteran who knows his body really well. He has had a few good training sessions over the last few weeks, and if he says he is right, we'll pick him."

In all seriousness, they should give Max the last two weeks off to give Preuss more time to learn. Max looks absolutely over it (and his teammates), and if he did a knee or whatnot in the last couple of weeks, that's next year shot too.

This

I bumped into Marty Hore, his parents and some friends of his parents at The Convent in Abbotsford this arvo. (I was at the tail end of a bike ride.) They obviously called in there for a coffee after the Casey Match at Victoria Park.

When I realised who he was I said "hey you should have been playing yesterday" to which all of them (including Marty) replied YES !! (quite indignantly). Clearly not happy that Marty hadn't been selected.

A very nice young man.

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.

  • NON-MFC: Round 09

Round 9 kicks off out west with the Dockers hosting a Collingwood side resting several stars. Fremantle need to make a statement on their home deck after some disappointing form on the road, while the Magpies will be keen to maintain their Top 2 position. Friday night sees a must-win clash between two sides desperate to stay in touch with the eight. St Kilda have shown glimpses while Carlton are clinging to relevance after a flat start to the season. Saturday’s twilight game at Marvel pits the Bombers against a struggling Sydney outfit. Essendon can’t afford another close match against a lower-ranked side, while the Swans risk sliding down the ladder even further. Up in Darwin, the fourth-placed Suns will look to extend their stay in the top four. The Bulldogs have hit their stride with three big wins on the trot and will be very keen to consolidate on their momentum. The always fiery Showdown looms as pivotal for both clubs. Adelaide are eyeing a spot in the Top 4 with a win, while Port Adelaide’s season could slip away if they drop another game and fall further behind the pack. Sunday begins with a yawn fest between Richmond and West Coast. The Tigers need to bank the points to stay clear of the bottom two, while the Eagles are still chasing their first win of the year. The Giants face one of the league’s toughest road trips as they travel to GMHBA Stadium to face the Cats. With GWS at risk of a third straight loss, Geelong will be eager to consolidate their position inside the eight and start their climb up the ladder. The round wraps up with the top-of-the-table Lions heading to Ninja Stadium to take on the second-last Roos. The Lions should easily take care of the struggling Roos who might be powerless against the best in the comp. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?
