Will be looking forward to the creative excuses from the regular turd polishers. Their calling is getting tougher by the week.

Can’t wait to watch another game of putrid skills.

Wow a few beers and a chill out needed for DL. Or maybe some meds

been  tough year but chin up guys. We’ll win tonight

Actually  Chook. Im in a great mood

About to head out to dinner. My evening can't  be soured or enhanced by anything the Dees do just as I can't  affect anything  they do. Win Win

Go Dees or not. Que sera sera

Saints by plenty... this week I’ve given up the drink for awhile, I don’t even have that to look forward too pppfffftttttt.

I’m heading out for a nice dinner instead of going to the game. I’ve never felt this apathetic about the club, even during the Neeld years. This year is a pathetic mess.

I hope those that attend the match tonight get to enjoy themselves and watch a win, but it’s unlikely.

Silver lining is even if we win, we’ll still be behind Carlton and could get Noah Anderson with pick 2!

if you are one up on me what year was that ,was it 54,if so are you about a very young 70

Nope, it was 1948, and sadly I left the; 'very young 70s' behind quite some time ago.  I desperately need another Flag before the long sleep.

The 20 odd members browsing this thread right now is about on par with the amount of people inside this wonderful stadium at the minute.

We don’t like to travel to away games ?

Kicking back with a cold frothy Guinness and a meat pie (with salad of course!). Come what may. We’re calmly enjoying the best dry season up this way for yonks. Go Dees!

Since the bye we are 2-3 with a % around 97%  and we’ve played 2 top 4 teams

reaching for positives but we are playing better as the season goes

Pulled out at the last second today. Really have no urgency or desire to attend the final few matches. Will be watching from home. But I've been to 8 matches this year and seen only 1 win (vs Carlton). Done for the year.

Well we aren't making finals so Im just going to sit back and watch the game and have no expectations. If we get thrashed well it happens if we win great. At least I won't have to watch Preuss drop simple marks.

Just a random thought why we are we the only club that doesn't have our name in our theme song? The pies have good old collingwood, geelong have we are geelong, richimnd have the tigerland words, anyway thats what this season has come down to when you are performing so bad. Just random things you focus on.

Decided to turn up tonight against my better judgement. Had a nice pizza on Southbank before the match at least let’s hope the team does something remotely useful

Other than the demon army, anyone else here tonight?  Feels like a Prahran vs Frankston game from the 70s.

Well, I mean, isn't it?

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
