Article on HS about Dons potentially missing Kozzy and Logan McDonald due to their reluctance to trade Danniher to Sydney. Good to be on the other side of these articles for a change.

This is rubbish. Kozzie was slated to go in the mid-20s. Clubs were surprised we went so early for him

It’s no longer us in the trade revision gun, it’s the Bombers but like us with the Josh Kelly, May for Pick 6 and trading up for Kossie Picket calls, I still think the Bombers have done ok with Cox and Perkins.

Jones has shown a bit so far and it’s only very early days.

Very happy to have KP, he has tricks that you just can’t teach

Cox will be a gun. I'd target him.

It’s a joke. He stood up against the cheap shots that the Tigers pulled when losing.  Tigers liked a few short elbows and punches in the clinches or after a contest.   Kozzzy does not take that [censored]. That’s the story.

And as for Jack Riewldt telling Kozzie what to do, that really made me angry. Im Glad Jack Viney grabbed him and told him where to go.

Im so sick of Richmond and the afl media. They are at an all time low.

I've had a lot of respect for J. Reiwoldt in the past he's been a great player for many years but I found his comments on Kozzie to be really disappointing.

Firstly that he thinks that Kozzie "(should be) better than that".  Really? Did he say that to Nankervis after he was constantly battering Max all night?  Or to Lynch? After any of his many indiscretions?

Secondly he thinks that Kozzie could be as good as Cyril Rioli. Low ceiling for Koz in my opinion and a pretty lazy comment to compare him to the first indigenous player the can think of, how about broadening your horizons Jack? Koz could be the next..

AFL media doing their absolute best to shame Kozzie over practically nothing right now.

I'm not even mad though, just basking in the glory of a relevant Melbourne Football Club.

Not all. On SEN.

Former Western Bulldogs captain Bob Murphy “absolutely loved” Pickett's aggression as the Demons announced themselves a premiership contender.

“This is the young upstart, this is a team that is discovering who they are and what they might be, taking on the champs and not being overawed, and getting in their face, and being a little bit cocky, and being a little bit arrogant,” Murphy told SEN’s Bob and Andy.

“That’s going to upset a lot of people, Melbourne have been in the doldrums for a long, long time, they’re trying to change who they are.

“I absolutely loved it.”

Funny, for a long time I thought Tom Lynch was ‘probably better than that’. Turns out I was wrong.

Hes an absolute [censored].

Kossie is just incredible. The movements he makes. Ive seen players try to tag him and suddenly hes behind them by the time they turn around hes gone with the ball.

Normally its other clubs that get these sorts of players like an Essendon or West Coast and we just have to sit and watch and groan. But not this time. Hes all ours and hes staying.

Cant wait for the next installment.

High five to Robert Murphy. Thats great.

And bonus is that it makes Kane Cornes and Jack Riewoldt look like a couple of whining Karens.  (Apologies to anyone named Karen reading this).

Riewldt (whatever his name is?) is such a total [censored].  Even if that's what he told Kossie on the field, no need to go big noting himself like some high and mighty on Slobbo's show about the issue.  Should have stayed on the field.  Whatever genuine benifit there might have been by this 'elder statesman' type advice on the field was just undone by his somewhat belittling blabbing in the media.

Its typical middle class Australian media mentality looking to try and do some daisy cutting and find the negatives that surly must be there, even when they arent, to a prodigious young new talent.

Vomit.

Wait so are they getting upset about how Kozzie got taken high and then decided to point to the scoreboard after he kicked the goal? I’d say that’s the simplest cheeky way of giving a little back, it’s not aggressive or anything, it was the spooky tigers who decided to go on with it afterwards.

Reiwoldt’s done plenty worse than that.

Interesting to note that there has been very little comment this week about the behaviours of Reiwoldt, Nankervis or Lynch across the game - 'mongrel' is more refined than their respective 'after the event' behaviours. It seems as though the AFL, the umpires and the media can allow/condone retribution displayed by certain clubs' teams, yet not for others. As the Demons improve, it is most evident that our 'best' are 'targets' to be openly, deservedly disrespected.

I disagree with your premise @Deemania since 56.

We know that fantastic players, and fantastic teams will always be feted on or given more leniency from the media, or umpires.

Actually, it happens in all walks of life.

It's not just, or right, and it happens.

Thus, as we improve with our consistency in winning - it will come our way as well.

No one has criticised the aggressor who was in yellow and black, playing in his 4th game. Maybe Rhyan Mansell needs to ‘mature’ and ‘show respect’...

I do think that race plays a part in this reaction from the media; Toby Greene can act like an arrogant [censored] and it adds flavour to the game; but Lindsay Thomas is a ‘cheater’ and Kozi Pickett is getting ahead of himself and needs to know his place...

Some of you would roll your eyes at that think of all of St Kilda’s lippy smalls - they are lauded (not now obviously coz they are crap).

I am aware that the forgotten Mansell is indigenous.

Just want to put my hand up and say I never thought he'd come on so quickly or demonstrate a tank like he has.

Anyone else?

I was very impressed with his draft video, but all the same his growth has been exponential.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
