Which community/tribe/small town is he from? Club website says WA yet everywhere else is SA. I imagine hes from remote WA somewhere and moved to SA to play footy this year.

He is based in SA full time. Moved there from WA when he was a kid.

Another blunder from our very own Ben Gibson..

I was looking that up yesterday, and Kozzie wasnt in the top 10 for agility.

And Luke Jackson wasn't in the top 10 for standing or running jump.

Those tests are irrelevant anyway.

Yeah, perhaps.

I'd just be interested to see the stats if anyone has them.

Not a massive fan of taking him so early, but prepared to back the club in. As we all should.

Sadly I think I agree.
I recall holding great hope for ANB as his SA team won the champs and he was a consistent key component within that side, always performing well without dominating, but getting his side over the line.
I had hope he'd provide a similar non-spectacular influence on the success of our side, but that hope is fading.

What you're describing is exactly what ANB was to us in 2018. He was a big, non-spectacular part of our success with a number of games hitting the exact numbers you'd be looking for out of your high half forward:

Rd 2 - 21d 1g
Rd 4 - 22d 1g 6t
Rd 8 - 23d 2.2g
Rd 9 - 17 d 4g 5t
Rd 10 - 23d 3g 6t
Rd 11 - 25d 1.2g 5t
Rd 12 - 19d 1.1g 6t
Rd 17 - 17d 2g 5t
Rd 19 - 22d 1.1g 12t
Rd 20 - 22d 2g
EF v Cats - 20d 1.3g 9t (and if you rewatch this game, he brought the heat very early and was key to our big 1st Q)

For the year he kicked 27.19, averaging 1.1 goals a game at 17 disposals and 4.7 tackles.
For an undersized roaming HFF, that is high output.

Does he make perfect decisions? Far from it, but his ability to move from contest to contest and use his endurance to get goal scoring opportunities is unmatched in our side. Like many others, his demise in '19 was another reason we couldn't replicate our 2018 form.

He needs to bring this form again and make it consistent over a period of years, but I do not understand the constant criticism of him and why people cannot see his value.

I think opposition sides worked him out, and realised if they apply serious pressure to him he can't absorb, coughs it up.

With time, I think he'll settle and learn to cope with the pressure without panicking, but I'm not confident he'll be afforded the time to figure it out - many aren't.

The hope is fading, but not gone.

Just been waiting for my coffee in Horsham and fell into conversation with the happy indigenous gent beside me in a MFC tee shirt. He turned out to be the very proud father of Kysaiah having a pit stop on the way back to SA.

He wasn’t afraid to talk the boy up. Said he has a fantastic attitude.

anyway I left him talking to Frank Giampolo (ex MFC footballer).

Really looking forward to seeing this kid play

And this is why Demonland has such great value. A fan discussion and story forum at its best. Thanks Bimbo.

An honest trier from the 1970s, played back pocket at times but struggled with injury and pace. Bad knees from what I can remember. Tried to come back under Big Carl but too much knee damage.

Last saw him in Horsham running the White Hart Hotel. Nice pub with reasonable food. Lovely bloke, happy to talk footy and still a diehard Dees supporter.

Footy jumpers are best worn by kids 5-16. Sorry Picket.

Good luck with that. I think Pert has issued instructions to cut costs. You need to pay extra for your choice of player on the card and the choices are limited to around 6 players.

You’re right....just spoke with the club regarding other matters with my membership, asked about pictures and was told only six we’re on offer. Honestly how much of a savings would it actually be.....

Kozzie is a Noongar man as is Harley Bennell.

There have been and are many AFL players are Noongar men.  A few notables:  Polly Farmer, Buddy, Barry Cable, Nicky Winmar, Garlett, Matera,  Bennell, Jetta, Pickett, Krakouer, Burgoyne, Ryder and the list goes on.

Lots of people for young Kozzy to draw inspiration from.

Absolutely delighted to have Kozzy on board. Fantastic to see Brad Green hand him the jumper and cant wait to see Aaron Davey hand him his famous 36.

Probably been mentioned above but did you see the look on Goody's face when Kozzy was being interviewed, he loves him which is a great sign.

    HIGHLIGHTS/LOWLIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Melbourne traveled across the continent to take on the Fremantle Dockers in sweltering conditions at Mandurah south of Perth in a game that delivered the club both its highlight and its lowlight in the first minute.  But first, let’s start by doing away with the usual cliches used in connection with the game. It was just a practice match and the result didn’t matter. Bad kicking is bad football. The game was played in severe heat, the swirly breeze played havoc with both teams resulting in

A couple of Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock to bring you their observations from today's training session before the Demons head off to Perth for their final Practice Match. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Beautiful morning, not much wind, more than a couple of dozen spectators.  The players were up and about, boisterous and having fun. One of their last drills were three teams competing in a hard at it, handball game in a small area. Goody

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
