POSTGAME: Rd 14 vs Fremantle

Other than May and obviously Salem our defenders should be told they are never ever allowed to do anything than kick the ball as far as they absolutely [censored] can. We should have been ahead all day, dumb turnovers cost us and let the stagers cry to the umpires and keep them in the game.

Frosty is not good for the heart. He's an excitement machine

Apart from a few grubbers his decision making was the best it’s been I reckon.

Very enjoyable game. As I said during the game thread because of our season it had no stress for me but when we hit the front by eight odd points i I must confess to some nervousness.

Pleasant day at the mcg.

Thought May had a good game.

And boy those great overhead marks in the last few minutes.

Looking forward to seeing a lot of smiling faces at Casey game tomorrow at Coburg

Nah, come on dude, just let us all enjoy a rare win.

We are in this together as Dees fans.

Didn't mean to put a downer on it for you guys who watch for the wins in pointless games in failed seasons. Enjoy it.

Just my opinion that we were fortunate with their injuries. Obviously a win is a good outcome.

My wife banished me to the front lawn until after the match for apparently yelling too much. Now I have to catch the replay.

Well done Demons!

Not a failed game at all if it can get some confidence back into Tom.

WINS are always important

No game is pointless - I don't think there has ever been a scoreless game. Boom tish.

But seriously every game they play is important. Every game.

Was interesting to see May barking at the players in the back 50 and setting them up from all standing bunched together.

Just need to focus on the younger players and hope like hell they learn to settle and calmly hit their target.

I still have concerns. Our lack of pace was on display, and Freo still scored mostly from turnovers across our half forward and easy transition. Would we have won had Freo not been two down? Maybe not but Hill and co. played out the game and had the pace and fitness to make up that lack of rotations.

One thing I really liked was Frost and Hore reading off one another. Frost can be a massive liability but he plays with confidence. Hore is Febey 2.0. Salem is all class. I thought our defensive 50 did very well today.

Overall it was a solid albeit frustrating performance. We can match it with top teams no doubt but we still have a lot of bad habits and structural issues that need ironing out.

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm
