I saw this before the game. Very emotional. I love a boy who loves his Mum. My best wishes to Oskar and his family.

Fair dinkum - I have a tear in my eye.

I’ve watched it about 8 times. And sent it to everyone I know.

I think my wife’s heart is finally beating true.

His Dad is a freakin legend.

Baker is a new favourite.

Truly lovely moment.

I lost my mum when I was 38 and have never got over it. Oskar lost his mum before he was 21. He has done it hard.

All the best to him and his family.

I hope he has a great career with us.

Football clubs do sometimes present a window into players lives and this was one that has brought us closer to the player and his family.

I was 28 Mr Leg, but at least I knew her well.

my youngest sister was only 10.

Lovely video. Oscar has a beautiful family. Do it for your mum mate. She would already be proud.

I think the team did just that last week. Despite adversity they "took them on".

When I watch him run on the ground on Sunday I'll be thinking about Oscar and his Mum being with him and his Dad telling him to take them on.

How much emotion must he have played with last week.

So sad but also so heartening.

Sorry just been chopping the onions..

Awesome video and well done to Oskar and his family. This is the start of a journey for young Baker and can see him having a solid career for the Melbourne Football Club.

His old man is a dead ringer to the great Dean Bailey.

Yep... I cried watching this last night.

What a champion, and his Dad did so well to speak so emotionally in front of so many people.

Emotional debut for a Qld draft prospect finally able through fitness to get his long promised and wished for AFL chance.

Will fit in at the G in front of the MCC and Club  members in the Northern and Members Stands with his dash(speed) and red hair delivering to our forwards and hopefully kicking goals.

Could we'll be one if the pieces in the puzzle of our future team adding that "Isaac Smith" style dash we need.

Promising debut and as his Dad said in perhaps the most emotional debut speech I have heard just have a go!

Oskar did just that and he will already be a fan favourite this week and we'll beyond.

Sad I have to wait till Queens Birthday to see but let's keep the form up and nail those opportunities.

I was 36 and things like this always bring it front and centre. I still hear her voice every day when I have decisions to make.

The small clip of Oskar on the wing about to deliver a great pass to TMac showed how he will flourish at this level. I hope he maintains form to play the rest of the season.

I was 30 and my son was 2 weeks old. My two daughter's never met Mum but she's influenced them greatly ( through me I guess). I'm sure she's watched over us all this time.

A fantastic  speech. I wish Oskar all the best. Gee, his dad seems to know a thing or two about the game. I thought Queenslanders just squashed toads, grew bananas and voted for One Nation....

Yes, Oskar's Dad played 200 games in the QAFL and was a Qld State rep. He is currently the runner for the seniors at Wilston Grange (my club) and is probably fitter than most of the players.

Oskar and his journey to the Dees have been a huge inspiration for my 10 year old son. Oskar has made him realise that a kid from the inner northern suburbs of Brisbane can actually make it to MFC and play AFL footy.

I don't know Oskar or his Dad personally but obviously know about them through the footy club so there were definitely a tear or two watching that video and speech. Awesome.

He is going to be a player this kid.

Has a great leg, speed and good decision making, going to be a beauty. Right behind you and your family Bakes.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
