Bummer, he looked ready made enough to make an impact at Casey. The silver lining for him is he’s got a long time until next season and maybe the extra rehab and sidelines time can be used to work on his strength and some extra coaching time.

For the team: we’re now have 2 list spots open, do we add a player before the March deadline?

Horrible luck for the kid. It would be really tough going through that before you’ve even played a game and gotten into everything properly.

Here’s wishing him a speedy and solid long term recovery.

Terrible news. Absolutely devastated for Aaron.

After all the excitment of being drafted and training with the boys with the possibility of some JLT appearances, I'm sure its a tough blow for the kid.

Fingers crossed on his recovery.

What a horrific blow to any young kid.  A real kick in the guts

Still, it will give him an extra year in the system to get stronger and wiser and perhaps hungrier  - Tracc has turned out more than OK.

PS. does anyone know how it happened? Fall? Twist? Poor surface?

Terrible news, hopefully he can come back bigger and better next season.

Why does it take three days for this news to be released? If it was an open session there would be posts on Demonland within a couple of minutes. What if it was a big name player, eg Tom Mitchell at Hawthorn? This club has to get much, much better at keeping members informed.

Probably had scans either Sat or today. Club would've waited until he saw the surgeon today to get full picture. Can you imagine how it would look if they came out with full ACL reco news on Friday and the scans showed different?

I'm only speculating, but perhaps Nietschke requested it not be made public until he had recieved all the info and spoken with the club.

I personally don't have a pressing need to know the moment things like this happen.

Having said that, had it been Oliver or Gawn they probably would've fast tracked the process and come out earlier.

"Is Wagner a human being at all? He contaminates everything he touches" - Nietzsche. Perhaps it wasn't either of our Wagners he was complaining about, though.

More relevantly, Neitzsche also said "That which does not kill us makes us stronger". Even though it's now a cliche we've all heard before,  knowing it was a phrase originally coined by Neitzsche, it seems appropriate to include it here. Good luck to the young fella.

It's hard enough succeeding at AFL level whilst remaining uninjured let alone starting off your career with an ACL injury. Wishing him a successful rehab and full recovery.

Well, the upshot is,  he certainly won't be one of those who takes things for granted when he returns.

But, He will come back with a lot of AFL info, on preparation, game tactics, & his development from the Gym .

[censored] me some people will be able to complain about anything the club does.

It probably took some time for the scans to confirm it to be an ACL. Just like Jake Lever, whose prognosis was in limbo for a good day or two after he did his. Yes, Jake Lever, one of our highest paid players who did it in A REAL GAME.

Let's be honest if they'd confirmed the news yesterday you'd be whinging about the club detracting attention away from the AFLW game. Had they done it straight away on Friday and it proved not to be an ACL then you'd be criticizing them for jumping the gun!

As for the young fella, shocking luck! But he'll be like a new recruit in 2020. Best wishes to him!

Good onya Aaron.  Take your time, build it strong...  slow and steady is the way.

Don't be impatient with it.  You've lost nothing so far, accept potential numbers.

Your time will come, and your games will come.   get strong.  ?

The genuine team spirit at our Club is enormous, and a critical part of our future.  Love it!!

What were they thinking? Surely it would have been more appropriate to buy him the collected works of Friedrich Nietzsche. He could start with 'The Birth of Tragedy' and then move on to 'The Case of Wagner'. What could be more appropriate than that?

I don’t think he needs those books. Looks like the kind of guy that would be philosophical about his situation.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
