Too many players in limbo:  Neale, Hogan, May, KK and possibly Beames (Lions won't let him go if they don't get Neale).

Freo causing quite a log jam so something needs to happen soon.

Anyone ready to guess when the AFL will get involved and kick Freo into gear or call in the mediators for the Neale and Hogan trades.

why would they get involved @Lucifer's Hero... noise about the slowness of tradeweek is still good noise for the afl.

Melbourne isn't really looking to keep Hogan. We could just as easily suggested he just play out next year etc. But no he's on the trade table. Discussion about the "price" is part of the game, not so much a "fight" in the sense of "hands off our Jesse"

Chicken or the egg? Is Jesse shopping around or are we shopping him around?

Let’s hope Hoges is annoyed at Freo not showing him or the club much respect and he signs on with us next year.

A trade is look less and less likely. The Lobb deal hasn’t even been done let alone the Neake deal

I get that it is good theatre for the AFL but with so many impasses caused by Freo the AFL can't stand by and let the futures of these guys be stuck in limbo.

Freo is all over the shop: want overs for Neale, give unders for Hogan, offer pick 11 to us, then Geelong, now GWS.  Laughing stock.

Mediation can take time so if Neale trade isn't done by noon tomorrow (and dominoes start falling) the AFL will need to do something to unblock the log jam.

It appears to be an open marriage

But in my experience, it rarely works, as one side or the other feels jilted and cheated.

However, sometimes it allows each side to see that the grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence.

And when they munch on that green grass it can be downright disappointing.

Some lurid details please Ernie.

Not saying that this is related to Jesse, but there's more than one way to ingest green grass, Hem.

It's been strangely quiet today considering deadline is just over 48 hours away.

God only knows how they've been able to fill the time on trade radio.

What if Freo trades Neale in the last hour and offers MFC pick 5 and 11 for Hogan. MFC says that's OK and

Jessie says no I have changed my mind.

The AFL Brand  taking a bit of a hit at the hand of the Dockers.

Do they step in, review the guidelines or ‘advise Freo’ that it might work best for them if they get their ship together.

SEN has been awful since crocmedia took over. This last week has been at a whole new level. Diabolical.

Holey Moley.

I’ve had a long, hard day at work and came out of a meeting to check up on what was going on in the world of Jesse Hogan and realised that today is no different to yesterday, the day before and the day before that ...

Today must be GRANDHOGAN DAY!!!

It's probably another annual leave day...ie/ a long weekend. Andrew's good at recreating those.

think i might need to rewatch the geelong elimination final x3 to get through tomorrows snooozefest.

Watched it yesterday and got so rapt up in the chaos footy again I just had to watch the Whorethorn match as well. Vodka/tonic took a hit and the neighbours very understanding with the noise level.

What do you mean put up no fight to keep him? Fremantle made an offer and it was rejected. What would you call that?

This idea that the club is desperate to rid themselves of Hogan doesn’t seem based on anything but hearsay. Although I understand it fits a (predictably) negative narrative.

The club has stated quite clearly that this has move been driven by Jesse himself.

Would you expect them to say we want him out  because.........

I don't think so that would total undo their negotiating position.

Of course we want him in 2019 right up until point Freo meets our demands.

Is it really possible that all this could be done at the very last minute on Wednesday?

Or not?

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
