If the deal on the table for Hogan was pick 5 & Brad Hill ... would you take it?

Send pick 5 and Frost to the Suns for May and Kolodjashnij.

2019 R1 Side:

Jetta May OMac

Salem Lever Hibberd

Hill Oliver Kolodjashnij

Petracca Weideman Jones

Spargo TMac Melksham

Gawn Brayshaw Viney

Harmes Lewis ANB Hannan

To me this is would be a significant improvement on the 2018 version of Melbourne. Shore up the defence with May while adding some class run, carry and delivery on the outside of midfield. We’ve got the grunt covered. Now’s the time to add a bit of polish.

Be very happy if we emerged from trade week with an outcome like this. Pretty much all depends on what Hogan does of course.

Would definitely want more than Hill. I want 2 picks 1 for May and Kolodjashnij and 1 for Max King.

Not sure what you’re trying to say here...

None of the developments were anything to do with a public announcement and wouldn’t have been picked up by the media immediately.

It appears others have confirmed bits & pieces, but the fact remains that my source is impeccable. I don’t push for details though, cos I’d prefer the well doesn’t run dry.

Oh, I get it now... these major developments are happening, yet whilst you are aware of 'said' major developments as a third party, you are unwilling to obtain more information, but more than happy to let others know that you have some sort of information, that something, somewhere is occurring, at some stage.

I wasn't expecting a media release, but assumed you would be posting, and was frothing for it...

200 retweets to unlock this information sorry mate

well tonight's major developments left me gasping for air

fair dinkum un[censored]believable

I particularly like this verification:

The guy who runs my sandwich shop is mates with Boomer Harvey who happened to be there yesterday.  As I was leaving with my chicken and avo sandwich yesterday we got talking footy as we often do and I mentioned that it looked like Jessie was leaving.  Sam checked with Boomer who agreed that that was what he had heard.....take it to the bank and put it on dark rye!

This is all happened!

Brad Hill left hawthorn to go home to WA, why would he come back to Melbourne?? we can't just take any player we like, only originally from VIC pose realistic options i.e. brayshaw or cerra

I get that and it’s probably a long shot. However there were stories coming out of Perth during the year that he was/is unhappy playing under Ross Lyon. Lyon himself even came out publically to try and quash the rumours.

It never hurts to discretely ask the question. Never say never. Things change.

Gotta call this [censored] out, You were just guessing/hoping there was a press release then you could go "told y'all so"

Nah...' @Mach5' mail is usually pretty good...

He doesn't play that game.

If he can't say more then that's fair enough by me.

You lose a good source if you burn them.

We get some great info on here if you know who to look for and on what subjects.

This is not your ordinary trade period, this is one we will definitely all look back on in years to come.

Yeah it’s definitely shaping to be the biggest trade period for a few years.

Peter Bell tookover as footy boss at Fremantle a day or so ago. I’ve heard he’s desperate to keep Neale where the previous administration were willing to let him go to Brisbane for their first round pick in return. The first round pick from Brisbane and their own first round pick were going to be offered to Melbourne for Hogan. I wouldn’t expect to hear anything re Hogan until we know what Neale is doing. #ETthetradewhisperer.

He’s the same poster who had a crack at me in April for defending myself with info regarding the club attempting to trade Hogan last year and it not sitting well with him...

What a hero.

Ah, you're one of those.

Do you have proof the club did that, or just piggy backing off these rumours as if they make yours more valid?

I passed on the info...you chose not to believe it. Not much more I can do Wiseblood.

Edit: I don’t blame you for not believing it either....I mean who the [censored] am I (on an Internet forum). I was just passing on what I was told, from the mouth of a current player at the time..

Christ some of you people are insufferable.

I merely wanted to give an indication that things are actually moving along, that this isn’t all just media speculation, meetings are happening and serious decisions are being made - i.e. this isn’t the Chris Judd saga where our name is thrown in there to add more interest, or one adventurous journo joined the dots based on little evidence, then the rest jumped onto a rumour to fill column inches.

But I’m not going to spill all the beans. You’ll find out when you find out.

I would've thought its pretty obvious that this is legit

  • NON-MFC: Round 12

Round 12 kicks off with the Brisbane hosting Essendon at the Gabba as the Lions aim to solidify their top-two position against an injury-hit Bombers side seeking to maintain momentum after a win over Richmond. On Friday night it's a blockbuster at the G as the Magpies look to extend their top of the table winning streak while the Hawks strive to bounce back from a couple of recent defeats and stay in contention for the Top 4. On Saturday the Suns, buoyed by 3 wins on the trot, face the Dockers in a clash crucial for both teams' aspirations this season. The Suns want to solidify their Top 4 standing whilst the Dockers will be desperate to break into the 8.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The media has performed a complete reversal in its coverage of the Melbourne Football Club over the past month and a half. Having endured intense criticism from all quarters in the press, which continually identified new avenues for scrutiny of every aspect, both on and off the field, and prematurely speculated about the departures of coaches, players, officials, and various employees from a club that lost its first five matches and appeared out of finals contention, the narrative has suddenly shifted to one of unbridled optimism.  The Demons have won five of their last six matches, positioning themselves just one game (and a considerable amount of percentage) outside the top eight at the halfway mark of the season. They still trail the primary contenders and remain far from assured of a finals berth.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.
