We already knew how good he was but now we find out this! What a gun!

FMD, FMY, FML :-(((

This is going to sound like BS from me.

...but I've been meaning to post for a few weeks now that I thought Clayton was not handling the ball as well this year.

He's a very clean, one touch player but has not been as clean this season.

... and even though he made AA this season, his ball handling was better last year.

That makes sense now, he hasn't been doing contact training for a while.

...the competition better watch out next year.

Clarrie will rip it apart.

The mind boggles as to just how good Clarrie is, but even more-so, how good he can become!

Wonder who else has been carrying injuries.

Under the circumstances, gutsy performance from him in the latter part of the year.

Is he going to get a full preseason though? What’s the recovery on 2 shoulder recos?

No contact TIL January, but presumably can do a whole lot of cardio leading up to that.

I was told that he is a robot and needs a little bit of oiling every now and then. Needs to tighten some loose screws.

Finish him up with a cut and polish and will be good as new.  May he last forever.

WOW JUST VIRTUALY INDESTRUCTIBLE! LIKE CRYTONITE IN REVERSE! WHAT AN ABSOLUTE STAR!

I’m a physio and this worries me immensely. The latarjet procedure is not one to take lightly and can involve multiple setbacks during recovery...and he’s having them on both shoulders. The procedure will have to be a couple of weeks apart so that he can start to regain some minimal function in one shoulder before operating on the next. Hate to say it but it won’t surprise me if clarry doesn’t get much of a preseason. Estimates of early jan are touch and go for me.

Thanks for the great news NTG :(

I used to date a circus trapeze artist who needed both her shoulders done, this is not a simple surgery, stacks of recovery involved, NTG is being kind. Makes the Geelong game a standout and explains Saturday. I wonder if he's been having needles.

Given his importance to our future you would hope they will observe every precaution, we've rushed players back in the past and it's almost always come back to bite us. Ablett Jnr also returned too early from his shoulder injuries and it bit the Suns in the ass.

Didn't TMac have the same thing 2 preseasons ago? Bilateral shoulder recos?

On the one hand, for him to be playing at the level he was over the last month or two despite having bilateral shoulder issues is incredible.

On the other hand, two surgeries which sound serious enough, delaying his start to the pre-season, is not good news at all.

That is true, but he can still run, it won't effect his fitness level, or skill level just no contact training, cross works his rehab men hard.

Tough bloke. Well that explains his drop off later in the season (making room for Brayshaw to shine more).  But obviously a stager.

I suppose this is the ‘real’ reason behind him being moved forward in the last third of the year...

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
