I'm 65 years old and have my hand on it.

Post of the year. Put down your glasses. This is the one.

When was the last time we beat the Crows twice in the same season?

Also we have beaten them at Adelaide Oval the last two seasons.  And rolled them there in 2015 too.

We own those punks.

Is it ok if I wash down my blood pressure tablets with a single malt (or two)?  Of course it is!!  I love our Club!!

Dees mate from work sent myself and the boss (mad Crows fan) a text after the game “we’re going to petition the AFL to play at the Adelaide Oval every week”.

Shockingly no response...

Geez I copped a few dirty looks when we kicked that last goal. Sitting amangst a bunch of Toyota people bwahahaha.

1998 I believe.  Or 1999.  I can't remember.  Either way it's been a while!

I want to go to the pub... but there is a typhoon in the neck of my woods.

Fair dinkum. She was a tough slog those last 7 minutes. But clearly tactics came into play this week. Fritsch was put behind the ball. We didn't try to go coast to coast after it started raining. Instead of 'pretty' footy, winning was our prerogative.

She will be a tough slog going forward. But with Jack and Hibbo back soon (fingers crossed), I don't write us off against anyone.

Shag it. Time for another can. YOU LITTLE ANZAC!

WOW!  Lewis just said Oliver reminds him of Simon Black.

Huge compliment.

Simon Black will be stoked to hear that.

We are currently fifth on the ladder, pending the Port game tomorrow, where I'd love to see a Dogs miracle that keeps us there at the end of the round.

I haven't been able to see the game yet, but I was checking on my phone and when we went from 30 points up to 14 points up with 10 minutes left, I completely lost all confidence.

I'm sure there were parts of the fourth which stank and we probably made similar errors to last week, but to hold on and actually get it done, on the road, with the extreme pressure that this game put on us just to stay in the finals hunt, is immense.

Adelaide is a good team.

Their last two home games were wins against GWS and Geelong, and they had most of their best players back.

They did play in the GF last year......

I really like the way Petracca is settling into his midfield role.  He seems to have realised that he doesn’t need to tear the game apart single-handed and do the ‘highlight reel’ things to have an impact.  Keep it simple and do it well.

Nup, this is the first time we've ever beaten them twice in the same season.

It's only the third time we've won consecutive games against them, too (first time since 1999).

Of course not. It's why so many people around here go fishing before it makes ground.

I was golf clapping in the 3rd, by the end of the game i was smacking myself in the face.

Considering what happen last week it's shocking how close we let it get. Adelaide butchered so many chances and Eddy, McGovern missed  certain goals. We even had the weather on our side.

One thing for sure. MFC supporters need to find a good cardiologist.  Either that or we have good cardiovascular systems

I am enjoying it! But this is not a done deal. We are not safe in finals and we have 3 very hard games left.

Why is Gold Coast a very hard game?

Kevin Bartlett gave us no chance to beat Adelaide on SEN. I hope he thinks we are a better team now and gives us a little respect.

Frankly, who actually cares what Bartlett thinks? I certainly do not.

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?
