Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

The suns desperately need leadership, just as we've had from Lewis in the past 2 years grooming the clubs culture.  And just as the Lions have had from Hodgey.

I reckon the AFL would like to help the Suns get back on-track...

So, to me, a win-win would be something like : >  NJones and ZJones to the Suns.  Leadership in dedication and commitment, you will not surpass. Two brothers playing together for the first time.

Our take... Touk Miller or Ben Ainsworth.

The Swans, I imagine, not sure of they're needs.  Maybe Jarrod Witts, or someone else?

The Suns have been in "parte` mode" for far too long now,,, and they need some clean livin' hard edged people, who will back one another, to start to turn that culture around, from the ground floor.

.

I see where you’re going with this, but the chance of Nate leaving Melbourne for anything other than retirement is 0. Make that -100.

Aaron Hall for Dom Tyson.

Both have flaws but Hall fits our team better and suns get a ball winning mid.

To get gaff as well and hunt to come back and improve, we will have better balance.

I'd say Tyson would actually be worth more than Hall, while not opposed to Hall I think given he's turning 28 and has been dropped at times this year, in a pretty ordinary team, we could pick him up for no more than a 3rd rounder or upgrade their 3rd to our 2nd (something along those lines) and keep Tyson or deal separately with a Vic club if he wanted out. Hall I see as a cheap alternative to Gaff (nowhere near as good) and doubt we'd be after both of them.

For me Hannebery provided his body checks out ok would be more beneficial to our young midfield. Can break lines and steps up to big occasions. Would be cheaper than Gaff. Gaff is classy player, and finisher but Hannebery type has good leadership credentials too.

Hall, Lloyd and Fasolo would be handy additions

Was dropped by Eade and Dew, he’s a quintessential NQR.

Yeah but was also asked to play a role that isn't his main strength, being more inside than out. I think he'd have some potential in a team like ours that has stronger inside mids so he could just use his speed to connect on the outside. I see him as a very cheap alternative to Gaff should he stay in the west.

Hi cards so who will use as a trade for a KPB seeing as how we have no first round draft picks to use?

Hey OD, why are we chasing a KPB for trade? Getting Lever back and we’re all good? Oscar another year in the system/preseason and he will improve.

Armitage?

Yes, I think we could use DArmitage for a couple of years.  He certainly would give us cover inside,,, Re injuries and ability... with Tyson on the outer.

And while our younger players get their acts together.

He would help us park a bit of Salary Cap,,, for when we can go at Kelly or Whitfield, when they come up.

He’ll be 31 next year, can’t get a game for the Saints, is slower than both Vince and Lewis...

I hope we don’t go anywhere near him personally

Is he really?  is he that slow?  Whats his endurance like?

Remember we need someone as a backup, in-case we lose some insiders to injury in 2019.

I'm not interested in Tyson, he just doesn't use the footy anywhere near well enough, that I've seen...  Time to shuffle the deck and discard.

Without Lew & Tyson,,, we can carry a slow player as an in-under.  We just can't carry 4 slow on-ball'rs..

I'm still in the Pro Pedo corner for 2019,,, for similar reasons.   I expect Weidman to start to rise next year, but he will most likely still be inconsistent you'd think.

And IF we were to cop a major injury to Hogan or TMc, we would have to rely heavily on Weides.

Pedo gives us insurance for the Ruck, Defence, and Forwardline.  Good value I think, for the cost of one season salary.

That woulda been good, Cuz training on Fitzroy street.

To be honest gaff is available. Eagles spent a mill on the gov as they know gaff is off. Get him under 800k 5-6 year deal. Otherwise refine what we have !

On a serious note I believe the big money to gov could definitely be the signal that gaff maybe on the move.

With that in mind we need to be careful not to offer the world. I still think no the buddy deal for the swans is now biting them in the arse. A salary cap of 10 or so mill and one guy getting a mil of that with 37 other players to pay.

Gaff is good and I hope we get him on a 5 year deal, but not going to crazy on the cash. Get active Melb recruiters and book A coffee in when over here!

yes, he really is that slow

his kicking is up and under and he doesn't hit the scoreboard

he wouldn't improve our side one iota

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
