I met him once a few years back, he was a snob of the highest order.

Who cares what this drug cheat sympathizer says or thinks, hes irrelevant

Bit tough my friend. Yes, his commentary today was pretty poor. He has also watched his son go through the unimaginable and any father would want to stick up for his son given the circumstances.

Irrelevant though? No. One of the best players I and many others saw through the late 80's and 90's. And coached at the highest level. I reckon he may know a bit more about the game than you and me.

Is he anti Melbourne? Perhaps just anti Gary Lyon. Spends every week day morning with him. The two constantly giving each other s h i t

Bunch of softies in here my god. Commentator didn't jerk us off enough i'm outraged anti bias [censored].

As an old Irish workmate once said, and I'll paraphrase: Fluck Tim Watson, and if he any relatives in America, fluck dem too.

It kind of felt like the commentators were told to talk up St Kilda today, maybe they thought if they did that they'd be entitled to an easier whack when the wheels fell off?

Although in general how bad was BT, didn't know about Tracc's finger, said numerous times that Webster caused the 50 meter penalty which went to the saints (even argued with the others when they pointed out it couldn't have been a teammate the ran through the protected area. Was the guy drunk, or is he just that stupid?

People have the sound up.....how novel ;)

- Commentators work for channel 7.

- Channel 7 has the broadcast rights with the AFL.

- CEO of the AFL is Gil

- Gil is a Saints supporter.

Ipso facto the commentators support the saints - they know which side their bread is buttered on?

But I don't think that means they hate Melbourne.

I want everyone to hate us

Tim Watson is not anti dees, maybe he is a demon supporter, going by how many negative post there are on the post game  thread,  there is  more anti dees post there then Tim's anti dees  commentary.

He wasn't great today, referred to the Saints as "we" instead of "they" multiple times, showing his bias. Definitely not the worst commentator going around though.

Yep, it was blatantly obvious today. Didn't have a good word to say about us at all.

He was goaded into praising a Maxi tap down that Harmes swallowed. After the other commentator mentioned it there was a pregnant pause then Tim decided he'd better agree.

Let's not lose any sleep over a father who so shamelessly allowed his son to be treated like Jobe was by the bummers. Put that miserable drug riddled club before the mental and physical well being of his own flesh and blood. Disgraceful !!!!!!

Both of Watson’s teams are [censored], so he can go eat a bag of dicks.

Not to mention he was crapping on about the mark the Tmac took on the point line.....It almost felt like some of the other commentators were ready to say, "Shut up Tim".

Correct ..... I'm far more scathing on our performances than Tim Watson could ever be.

The ump was in perfect position on the behind line against the post. No hesitating with his decision. Watson refused to even acknowledge that.

A very unimpressive commentator on all sport. You would expect him to be very knowledgeable about footy but his commentary never suggests that he has any additional knowledge over the average punter.

Adds very no insight or makes little comment that adds to the value of commentary. He is there for his special comments but makes no special comments.

He appears to lack objectivity.

And he certainly damns Melbourne with faint praise.

"Last chance saloon" for the poor Saints today. If they couldn't be competitive, and by god they weren't, it's number two rebuild in the pipeline.

So now, that's no longer the "whipping dog demons" who have silently, because we won"t hear about it, put away a couple of highly maggot favoured, bruise free clubs from yesteryear.

He came across as sad and sulky and brought down the whole broadcast like a turd in a punchbowl.

A miserable git.

Gary Lyon talks Melbourne on radio SEN and is on with Timmy in the mornings .When Melbourne has a win all you hear from Gary is Melbourne this and Melbourne that. However it would drive Tim Bonkers. He has become anti  Dees.    Gary won't let up this week.          GO GARY!     However l love it .     Go Dees!

To quote from an old favourite show of mine:

"Tim Watson's only crime is being Tim Watson. It is also his punishment."

As other's pointed out, he barracked for the Saints today and will go home disappointed.

And that is the pattern of his life for more about a decade now.

It's Game Day and the Demons will be running out on the field with a new Head Coach, albeit a caretaker, for the first time in 3,060 days when they face the Western Bulldogs at the MCG today. What do you want to see from the Demons in the first match of the Post Simon Goodwin era?

  • Thank You Simon Goodwin

As Demon fans, we’ve ridden a rollercoaster of emotions over the decades; the heartbreaks, the near misses, the wooden spoons, and the endless waiting. But through it all, we clung to hope. And then came Simon Goodwin. Before he ever wore red and blue, he was a champion in his own right. A five-time All-Australian, two-time Best and Fairest, and two-time premiership hero and Captain with Adelaide, Simon Goodwin was always destined to lead. When he transitioned from the field to the coach's box, first as an assistant at Essendon, he began shaping a new legacy.

Long ago and far away, the Melbourne Football Club replaced its coach in difficult circumstances after the team suffered a devastating loss. In the aftermath, I penned the following words: “Then came the politics, the intrigue, the axing, the sound of the football world laughing at a club, the circling of the media vultures, the reinvention of history, the anger, the irony, the pathos, the hurt on the face of the president, the dignified departure of the coach, and the determination of the newly appointed caretaker.” Today, we’re back in the same place although one difference here is that the coach who was terminated this time is Simon Goodwin, the man who four years ago

  • REPORT: West Coast

The Charles Dickens novel, A Tale of Two Cities, opens with, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, …”  This phrase highlights many of the significant challenges that humanity encounters in life, ranging from experiencing remarkable highs to living in times of despair. This is a concept that should resonate with all supporters of the Melbourne Football Club this morning as they reflect on its comprehensive 83-point victory over the struggling West Coast Eagles at Marvel Stadium. The outcome proved beyond doubt that they are the worst of clubs and that we are the best of the worst.
