Yes because this is about fitness tests for selected players, not about who gets named emergencies.

Curious that he would not have been named on the bench if still subject to a fitness test. Aren't Dees liable to be fined if subbing ?

I’m surprised about Trac.

I had to get 2 stitches between my fingers today and I can barely move it. It’s quite sore. How he can play a week after stitches and a skin graft is amazing.

I couldn’t even put socks on.

Jaded.  If the sutures were between your fingers ie web space it would be painful even to put gloves (let alone socks) on.

Trac way well wear some sort of protective glove

I guess the precedent was set last year when Jeffy was dropped for poor form, didn't play VFL (I think due to yet another bloody bye) , then was back in the seniors without having to prove anything.  By all accounts he did nothing at Casey to justify reinstatement.  IF he gets back it IMO sends a very bad message.

No. You’re confusing a number of things. It wouldn’t make sense to be fined for replacing an injured player - that’s the whole point of the emergency system.

- The final changes for a Sunday game will always come from the extended bench, and the three not selected will be the emergencies.

- if a player is injured and can’t play (ie late change), he must be replaced by one of the emergencies - the club is fined if it uses a non-emergency as a replacement.

That is absolute bullsh*t. If he’s been dropped because of form and been lacklustre in the 2s then why does he get a gold card automatic inclusion back in?

Who said Picket is right he's not the most reliable bloke going around?

For starters, this isn't correct, if you go by the stats he was amongst the best.

But even there, it depends on what he was asked to do in the game (e.g. tackle?), how he applies himself during the week in training, in the gym etc.

Also, not sure which out you're referring to last year, but from what I can see, he only missed one game (Round 15) and that was with a hamstring.

Why is it a worry?

It is a stronger team but there are form gaps and pace gaps, plus a few who could be very strong against the Saints team that have been overlooked/omitted. I feel that Garlett could have learned his endeavour lesson, Pedo's strength is needed in the fwd line and although largely meaningless, the 'on paper' setup of the fwd line with Hoges at CHF is not a good start. TMac needs to be at CHF with Hoges at FFWd. Another tall / ruck respite needs to be on the bench - unless Goodwin plays the FPocket changes for rucks. Lever just aint a CHB playing better as a floater off the flank for intercepts. The centreline looks slow where the Saints are speedy, and there is concern about the team playing both the slowing Vince and Lewis in the same team, and the ill-directing Tyson across the midline - once again asking a little too much of Jones and Oliver to account for the midfield drive - so lotsa long bombs are going to be the flavour of the MFC gameplan. If TMac was played at the CHB position, and the speed was centred from HFwd into the deep Fwd line, it might work through the release of Hogan, Pedo, Weideman and the smalls like Hannan, Fritz, Spargo and Garlett. at the incomings and bringing the ball to ground. Hibberd needs to be used as the backline utility from the HBFlank to maximise our chances of crossing the centre to the Fwd line setups as reliance on Tyson's kicking and Lewis' speed is rather shaky. Frosty may have been considered to re-stock this HB drive from the bench., as well, instead of Harmes. Just an opinion.... Petracca needs to be 'centred' for midline drive to the fwds and to receive that from the backs - a two-way target for the whole team.

Quite correct. I ill considered that the replacement was coming from the listed emergencies.

does that mean you think they will both play

Don't see why not, both seemed happy at the end of the session and neither sought any attention during it

Only issue Salem, Clarry and Trac playing soccer at end of session, Salem delivered a beautiful 50 metre pass for Trac to head in, made a complete breakfast of it much to everybody's amusement, can see why basketball was second sport

Even though it was a light session emphasis on fast ball movement, marking and goal kicking, Tommy Mc pisses me off, not one miss in the 3 drills they had??

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
