Because I'm a bit bored this week with us not featuring I thought we could get some practice in for the year ahead analysing our opposition.

If anyone watched any of the other games last weekend feel free to post your thoughts.

I only watched a Q & a bit of tonights game and thought the Saints disposal was really poor. Both teams looked average but who brought the standard down or are either not a real threat?

Interested to see how we match up against the Saints next week at Casey...

Conditions weren't real flash tonight, but the Saints seemed to lack a bit of polish while the Blues seemed to want it more.  Having said that, Bolton will want to take any win he can so no doubt he pushed his players a bit more than Richo might have.

McCartin kicked a couple but he looks like an uncoordinated 13 year old who doesn't know what to do with a body that's larger than most.

The bit I saw (and it encouraged me to switch off)- Scummers had flooded back, and the Aints were going laterally back and forth outside 50 before bombing it straight to Liam Jones.  Reminded me too much of our bad old days.  Both sides were scrappy and lacked polish.  Lets see if the Saints clean things up a bit for next week against us.

Collingwood no skill and love the boundary.  GWS are rusty.  Unappealing game so far.

It's the classic pre-season game really.  Both teams missing plenty of their best 22 which doesn't help.

So is Treloar injured? Where's he? Have I been under a rock? They look ordinary without his line breaking.

Bucks has this squad going nowhere. Also think they've got a bog ordinary list too.

Could be a blessing in disguise allowing Bucks to get a two year deal in Round 23 last year. Haha. I'll get smashed for that.

As Roosy says, they've got no brand. Okay, GWS are defending well, but they're still playing the boundary hugging style Malthouse was playing almost a decade ago.

I have no interest in watching non dees games.

Only GWS out of these sides worries me at all. We’ll smash the rest of them.

We kick more in a quarter than Collingwood do a game. They have got a lot of players missing though. As they always do.

On the face of it, Pies fans will say they were missing some important players.

Deep down though, they'll be worried.  It's the same old game play with the same old players.  Bucks is too stubborn to change.

Does anyone know how much game time Chris Mayne had? I see he had 2 disposals at 50% DE. It’s better than last seasons 45% DE I suppose.

That’s about 10k per possession for Mayne, isn’t it?

Not bad if you can get it.

I’d just get two touches and go home as well. At least he’s not greedy.

Yep, I’d get out of bed for that kind of coin.

Yes they are missing players, but they are injured, that's their problem year after year the same players are injured, but dunn is more happy that he is at a better team, and Adam is at a club with a better and younger list, does anyone else notice when ever a collingwood player is interviewed, they always refer to being at the best club, even first year players. They are all brainwashed there, that they are a great team and everything is going well and they are happy with Buckley, it's like they are all north Koreans, who can't say a bad thing about their leaders.

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
