Complete stab in the dark. Expect about 0 out of 4.

29 - Joel Garner (others Baker, Spargo, Hayes)

31 - Spargo (others Baker, MacPherson, Stoddart)

36 - Krueger (as a Cripps type mid) (others Baker, Petrucelle, someone no one's ever heard of)

47 - Baker (others Fritsch, Answerth, someone no one's ever heard of)

His height and intimidating physical presence would be to our advantage, but I think his age may not be in his favour.

Is there any love for Charlie Ballard? Looks like he'll be around for 36 and maybe 47. Interesting type. Tall midfielder who could fill out and be used in a range of roles. Doesn't lack toe and seems to use it pretty well. Anyone know about his attack on the contest and endurance?

I get wary of players whose main pros are tall and flexible.

I could be completely wrong, but I worry that translates to "pretty good for a bloke that size" (rather than just good anyway), and "not particularly amazing at any one role, so they move him around"

Could be a classic tweener.

I thought we might look at him as a slider until I read a comparison with Watts, in the 'lack of appetite for the contest' sense. Just a recollection of a random comment, not gospel.

Yes I think most will be scared off my Watts and Morton comparisons but one of these super tall mids will dominate the competition one day. Cripps plus three cms. Why not? That's why I'm interested in hearing from anyone who has seen him live. Is he hard at it? I like the way he moves in the highlights clip. Composed, moves well and seems to have neat skills.

I miss Emma Quayle's draft journalism and draft predictions. Not a lot of bs with her views.

Fox footy's predictions are a bloody decent return for us.

Spargo, Houlahan, Garner, Fritsch.

I think we have a very good hand to play here.

If we could come away with Hayes, Garner, Wooler and Fritsch, it would be a good draft. Bring in some more depth in the Ruck, HBF, KPF, and HFF and it would help improve our overall list.

I reckon that's bang on. Garner and Petrucelle are tipped to go around our mark, and suit our needs for outside pace and class. Coleman-Jones as a long-tam forward/ruck option, and Baker as another with pace but less rounded than the other two.

I hope Bailey lasts until our pick as I reckon he will develop into a really fine player and would love him in red and blue.

My realistic wishlist.

29  - Charlie Spargo

31 -  Mathew Ling

36 - Tom De Konig

47 - Trent Mynott

Zac Bailey would be a good fit but don't think he will be available.

Sorry Constable was the slider. Predicted top 8-12 selection and we passed him. ???

Spargo - yes.  But I had the choice of 5 available

Fritsch - yes.  Cut off the Eagles

Petty - hmmm.  Tom McDonald type. Not sure. Prefer Hayes or Houlahan at 3rd pick

Baker - needed pace. He fits the bill. Though amazing that Garner went at 60

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
