Yes yes, bit of a Jeff about him, we got Jeff for peanuts, he might not be that expensive, I think it would be the kick up the ass he needs, Macca will get him back on track, a marriage break up can have a  devastating effect, he can get back to his best, I would ask what they want for him, then see if it would work, never say never.

Whoever gets him could get the trade of the century or a Dolly Parton bust.

Price would be the big issue? What would it take in picks and $$$?

Kids a freak on his day, much maligned reminds me of Jack Watts on our list. Maybe, a trade would be best for all parties.

Nothing to do with being dropped, lots of rumors involving his ex and another player but that was on the back of Jake not being the most upstanding citizen either. Some suggestions are that he needs to leave to be able to sort out the issues.

Not sure if were the place for him, he's not known for his pressure game (he can be great but on a very occasional basis) and hasn't got the tank to move too much further than the Fwd50.

There were rumours his ex was dating JJ, which is totally false. He and his ex separated 2 months after the birth of their second child, after being together since high school. Rumours have it that he cheated on her.

He has a lot of personal issues, and maybe this has been the cause of his dramatic drop in form. Apparently he is a bit of a [censored], and his teammates don't like him much. Not sure how I feel about him coming to our club on the back of this, but there is no doubt he is talented and maybe a change of scenery might really help him recapture that form.

Would you offer up something like salem and a later pick. Stringer could be a huge weapon if he gets it together and has a good relationship with Macca

Wouldn't identifying Geelong/Essendon mean he's identified that North/West area to visit his kids and probably doesn't want to spend time in gridlock going from east to west playing with other clubs?

I'm sorry if you can't get around the paywall, but Beveridge confirms in this article that they ARE trading Stringer and that it's in the best interests of the club.

I don't think we will be a part of this trade at all, but it's still huge to think that they are trading someone so flawed, yet so talented.  Reckon someone like the Bombers will pounce on him and stick him in the forward line with Daniher, which will have BT frothing at the mouth.

Knowing Essendon's arrogance they will probably only the Dogs a 2nd rounder plus some muppet like Gleeson or Mitch Brown.

Wouldn't be surprised if they Cats made a play for him.

I had a few beers recently with someone who coached Stringer in recent years, not Bevo. Confirmed he needed to leave the club due to personal, ex wife issues. Hence not all surprised to see where this is going.

Also of interest, thought was Boyd was better when interstate as his mindset issues are heavily influenced by family being closer every week.

Undoubtedly he has talent and at his best would enhance any team: unfortunately as has been discussed at length, getting the best consistently out of talent isn't one of the MFC's strong points so I really don't know if he would be a good get.

But it does sound as if he needs a change of club.

Sounds similar to Jeffy, needs a change and came good at MFC...

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
