Changes v Brisbane

I don't think some of you can think clearly when it comes to Watts. Three months of good form is erased in 3 weeks of poor form.

Idelogues have no place in Match Committee - unless the players see him as as egregiously 'soft' that some of you here claim so vehemently - he should come back in if he shows the right habits in the VFL.

We have a great opportunity this year and I think Watts is best 22 and I hope he gets back to the form of the first 3 months.

Sue me.

Out: Wagner, Petracca (rested).

Following week, Hogan and Watts back.

So when does Petracca return.  Out next week and the following week your bringing back Hogan and Watts. After that it's either the pre finals bye or Maf Monday

I would give Tracca a very light week on the track.

Resting him now is insanity, unless he is so sore he can't contribute.  But he seems just generally fatigued.

We have two games to go, and if we get the job done we get a week off before the first final -then guys can rest.  That break will advantage us more than any other finals team as we will be the youngest one... like the Doggies last year.

I thought it was a bit more than soreness. At some stages yesterday he look absolutely spent. I think a rest is a good idea, even if it is only a rest from heavy training. The week off will help him enormously...

INS- watts

OUTS- vince

play watts across half back until Salem is right to come back

I think bringing in Watts against Brisbane would be highly beneficial.

He usually plays the G well, and we could play him into some good form and gain confidence for a must win game against Collingwood in the last round.

In: Frost, Watts

Out: Wagner, Weideman

I think Weideman is in the team till Jesse comes back, Watts is unable to provide the physical presence and structural piece that we require, and playing TMac forward was starting to reduce our backline cohesion.

If Jack wants back in it won't be at Wiedman's expense, but based on Jack pushing out another player ie Hannan, Harmes, Petracca, or ... and I'm not sure he'll do that based on 1 average VFL performance.

Against Pies. Simply Whoever isn't performing. Could be Hannan, ANB, Garlett, Vince or could be injuries. It'll work itself out.

Why are you dumping Vince?

That could well be 2018 deeflog. Word is he will get a big suspension.

Why are people so intent on resting? This is another elimination final. We can't take Brisbane lightly otherwise they will run over us. 3 weeks ago we played North Melbourne and look what happened. We need our best players on the ground every single week from now on, unfortunately we aren't in a position like Adelaide to rest some good players up until finals!

Perceptive. (Lets not forget Jeffy has had a death in the family and had to go back a couple of times which is bound to take a toll.)

Jack Watts will Never ever "Kick down the door" at Casey but is he isn't a better bet at this stage of the season than Weeds, I'll streak naked down Kings Cross and hope I escape unscathed!

If it were earlier in the season (or at this time of the year in any other season in the past decade) I wouldn't mind persisting with Weideman a bit longer and keeping Watts at Casey to work on whatever deficiencies the coaches' believe he has. But when finals are a genuine but as yet unconfirmed chance, I think we need Watts back before finals start. If he doesn't play against Brisbane, he will have only one week out of four (because of the unnecessary bye) to regain touch at the senior level which really compromises the chance of him being useful in the finals.

That. And I don't want to see any pictures of Picket streaking naked.

Liked the efforts of Pedo. Got plenty of it. Hope he can retain his spot beyond R23

In: Watts, Stretch/Salem

Out: Weideman, Wagner

Putting anything other than our absolute best available side out against Brisbane would be a massive mistake. Weideman is not ready and Wagner is not AFL standard.

I was waiting for Bugg's name to come up. If he plays again this year, it would be a sure sign that things have gone badly wrong for us. You don't get welcomed back with open arms after copping a six week holiday. He needs to put his head down and show some leadership at Casey over the next month.

If goody is serious about rewarding form then Ben ken should be given a go at some point has been very good but who does he replace

Lions have been a lot better in the past month.

- Walloped the Gold Coast Suns and put 142 points on the board.
- Took it up to the Bulldogs (7 straight goal comeback)
- Smashed Carlton at the Gabba

They have a lot of mid-sized run and would be inclined for no changes. Would like to see us settle T-Mac down back until next year, we need him there.

No changes.

unless - Jeffys head is not right - if he is still too affected by personal stuff, give him a week to off to go home.

or unless Watts did enough to push Weed out

Quite probably.

Imho should not have played yesterday.

Absolutely.  They will be no pushovers, that's for sure.  They smashed both Carlton and GC, although both clubs are in struggle town.

We need to pick our best side, no point in resting players now.  With finals not assured we can't afford to become complacent.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.
