I've posted here before about some AFL footballers drinking in the bar I manage in Sydney. This weekend we had quite a few more that really made utter dills of themselves and obviously imbibed more than any professional athlete should. I'm aware that it's easier for the Sydney teams as they aren't the household faces that the traditional state teams players are but if this is happening so much here, why are we getting so sensitive over seemingly smaller indiscretions. By comparison I would suggest our boys are far more professional in their approach but do we think our lads get up to as much mischief that we don't know about?

If they were GWS kids all well and good !

Leak the story to the press.Name names.

Tell all Mr Reims.

Any distraction for them is a bonus.

It was the GWS boys, I'm not interested in it being a press thing but I don't care about naming names either. This weekend it was Shaw, Taranto and I think Coniglio. Previously it's been Patton, Franklin, Aliir Aliir and Grundy. The purpose of the topic was do we know of similar behaviour in our boys? I was pretty dismayed at Taranto getting involved so young, whilst Bernie is known party boy I would hope he isn't taking Petracca or Oliver out with him to learn those habits

Eastern suburbs I'm guessing.

Perhaps Bondi .

Sadly, the press don't care about GWS here or there because they are an artificial team with no supporters.

I doubt we would have to worry about Petracca. He has been involved in a high level basketball system since a young age (at State and National level). So I think he is safe, he probably adhered to stricter standards most of his sporting life - than he is expected to adhere to in the AFL. Oliver is a worry though. But he is a country lad so probably won't play up in the spotlight of the city. Not sure I'd be worried about any of our other youth. They appear to be very level headed and sensible (ANB, Stretch, Brayshaw, Salem, Petracca, Hunt, Kennedy-Harris).

To much money and free time.

You think? Players are often at the club by 8am and don't leave until 5. That's 5 days a week, then there's match day. Not forgetting other club related appearances, marketing promo, and in the case of Jack Watts, saving kittens from busy roads. Point being that fit players don't have a great deal of free time, probably why some tie one on when they do.

Smarter players will keep their nose clean and use the chance to set themselves up with a career after footy.

Or at least drink at home. I reckon there would be quite a few AFL players who drink at home during the week. Probably not massive amounts, but certainly amounts they'd cop heat for it they drank it out and about. It is about perception. Drinking mostly only becomes a problem for clubs when we hear about it.

I'm not sure why you'd risk business from these guys by outing them on here and stating your position so publicly.

3 am visit for a little "redecorating"

Bit harder for our boys to get away with it given their captain is as professional as it comes during the season. Jones sets a very high standard as captain, and those who fall short would have him to answer to.

If you keep outing, I doubt you will be managing for long, you do realise that both Barrett and Stevens are avid readers of this site and wouldn't care about you going under the bus for a story, but hey its your job

Appreciate the concern, but I've been doing this for 16yrs or so. Heresay on a public forum isn't quite the all powerful thing some you of obviously think it is. But I'll keep my observations to myself from now on if it offends so much

Avid readers! Bwahahaha!!!

Do they wear their spy glasses and use the shoe phone while going through all the threads?

Someone please post an image of the Get Smart agent who hides in tiny places.

The best story they'd get on here would be about BBOs jolly good flogging habits

Someone was hoping Kelly came down with a case of the runs this week. MrReims, can you make this happen? A Metamucil Martini perhaps?

Has this ever been confirmed or proven? I see posters say this often but suspect it's exactly what they're accusing journos of doing.... guessing without proof.

Reims don't be silly, how many 000s of people are on DL and a couple have thrown out the wet blanket.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
