Im going straight to the club shop and buying a soft shell jacket... been looking at it online all year.

Its a luxury, but i will be happy to pick one up if we win.

Oh, im also sending a text to my boss, whos son plays for Port, reminding her that he should ask for a transfer to a successful club. (She also controls the roster so it will be my last game for the year)

Give my brother in law a really hard time, he is a die hard port man.

Go over to Uncle Bitter, to sample the late season Flogfest at the local Romsey general apothecary or other questionable refuge!

Or you'll be suddenly free to attend our training sessions in addition to all of our games. Might have to pawn that jacket though.

Watch the highlights.

Take it to the No T$ No BS thread Chook.

... get crushed by the hoard of happy Dees supporters at Richmond station.

[censored] this.

We are 9 and 7 with all but Jones back, yes there will be some rust but we are at home and there are no superteams and we are a good team.

There is no surprise here - we can win this game and if Viney, Salem, and Tyson don't need a game to get into the momentum of the game - we have enough weapons to win well.

Finally start believing we are finals bound. Even now I have doubts despite us being definitely in the box seat

....celebrate so loud I wake my London flat mates! (And not for the first time)

Buy an Indigenous jumper.  It's a great style and it would be fitting to celebrate.

Me too!

Have a triple single malt whiskey ( or two ). Whilst watching the replay

... buy a lifetime Demonland subscription!

Probably blubber like a small child as I would be confident of finals for the first time in 11 years.

Throw the missus over the couch.

Get punched in the face

Try again.

Not be surprised as its on our home ground and we are a better team and I cant understand why people are talking like Port are some sort of powerhouse.

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
