Oscar finished the last term a little better at least.  Doesn't excuse his first efforts but it's good to see none the less.

We've been the second best side this term IMO, yet we're in front which is a good sign.  Nathan Jones was immense and Hibberd has continued his good form.  Hunty has been great on his wing with his run as well.

Plenty who can still lift for us which holds us in good stead.

Need Viney and Lewis to get amongst it. They've been quiet.

good to see we haven't started slow... but got maintain it and give a good four quarter effort. Omac needs more confidence in his ability, he is holding himself back. Come on dees, let's win this!

We also lost the clearance count 10-2 that term, so it's even more amazing that we are in front.  We will level this up going forward as well which should see us score more.

we look nervous to me just play like you want to

You can take the boy out of Melbourne but you can't take the Melbourne (gift goals in dying seconds of quarters) outta the boy. Thanks Dunny

Hunt is electric, such a weapon on that outer wing - beautiful to watch.

Our forward entries in the first fifteen minutes were as though we were kicking to an imaginary power-forward.  We corrected that and are looking a lot more dangerous.

For all the hyperbole on the previous page, Oscar has settled well and repelled some late entries.

It's a bit of a shoot out, so would like to see us tighten up a bit on our forward pressure - they're getting it out a little easily.

Not playing well, but in front. Plenty of room for improvement. Possibly.

Still too many players with unreliable disposal: Hannan, ANB, Bugg etc.

He had a good quarter, it was a shame he missed that kick in the middle as we were away but his tackle gave us our second goal.

Interesting first quarter, I think it's a bit like the suns last week where is close we're better but Collingwood seem to be spreading quite well. Both teams have had great opportunities that were stuff up through poor decisions or disposal. it's a very even game, the team that settles first will get the advantage at half time.

must admit i think dunn was a bit stiff with that free but then again its collingwood

So many turnovers up fwd.... costing us big time.

Hibberd stiff there, he did everything right and it just got away from him.

Pies aren't that flash, we just need to keep the scoreboard pressure on and they'll wilt.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
