Adelaide supporters

If I were invited to something like the premier club area I would show some respect. Bad form to embarrass someone who inivited me. Then again a small sin in the big picture. We have been starved for success for so long that some supporters are expected to lose it in celebration.

So what would you have all done if you were Andrew Fagan in this situation? You're the CEO of the club, and you receive several complaints from your premium club members over the behaviour of guests in the club on game day?

Lol what a load of crap, however I don't like opposition sitting in our members section we pay good money for a reserve seat so we don't have too IMO, but it's our own members that annoy me the most as I like to be loud at the footy and stand and cheer, I don't swear or carry on but the amount of Melbourne supporters that has had a go at me telling me to sit down or be quiet is unbelievable it's almost like sitting with the opposition it's actually quite rediculous, I won't bother with reserve seat next year as I just go standing room now because of it

Even worse than that are the Melbourne “supporters" who spend all game bagging our own players. I’m not a physical person by any means, but my Lord do I want to punch those blokes when they start to get on a roll.

If i was paying through the nose for some seats, i too wouldn't want to have to put up with opposition supporters being overly boisterous (particularly in an exclusive area).

This is different however, as the article suggests that these upset Crows supporter's were giving just as much lip to the Melbourne fan when they were on top, yet couldn't handle it when they were getting soundly beaten. Hypocrites. Down hill skiers that like to give it out but not get it back, like their soft team.

Yep I think the last 10 years has broken some supporters and they just can't get over it, if you go to any other game as a neutral the atmosphere is so different, you can tell when clubs run out they get a loud cheer with Melbourne games we are lucky to dish out a light clap

He didn't go to the press, he wrote it in a letter to his members which someone published. Am I the only one who read the article before getting all outraged?

I read the letter, fancy telling people to warn there guests about 'being loud', either ban opposition supporters completely or let them in and support there team.

Can't tell people to be quiet at the footy.

I totally agree about not sharing the area with opposition supporters but I've also told a couple of our own so called supporters to pull their heads in when they've started loudly abusing our own players when things turn dark.
Loudly supporting's fine, loudly turning on our own isn't.

Exactly. Don't put out anything that will be published.

These people have no idea of Social Media.

No Sympathy

Totally agree I certainly don't abuse players, but still manage to get told off for being too loud

So how was he supposed to collectively address the members of the Premiership Club without writing a letter?

Bit bizarre, people spending close to seven thousand to 'go to the football'.

I think it is important to recognise that this is an event for the patricians to wink and nudge about bypassing development regulations, a bit of business-to-business 'informal selling' (that'd be cash-in-hand work, for us plebs) or getting a bit of insider trading done.

It is really quite hard to get your quasi-black-market deals and closed-tender government contracts (pardon me, 'networking') done when there's someone in the room making people feel like they aren't the most special wonderful brilliant people in the world who deserve all this because only they are good enough.

Seriously, if you're going to yell and chant at an event like this, might as well cut to the chase and sing the Warshavianka.

If the CEO writing a politely worded letter asking members of an expensive, exclusive club asking members not to invite guests who will upset the experience of other members who have also paid a small fortune to be there is your idea of grandstanding then fair enough mate. I couldn't agree less though.  I think people who have paid for an expensive product should expect protection from the CEO if the quality of the product is being degraded.

Save the footy banter for the grandstands. Some people don't want that as part of their experience and that is clearly who the Premiership Club is marketed at.

but he didn't ask them not to invite

Refer said members to the code of conduct, or behavioural standards that accompany the membership.  Inform said members on how to contact security or staff when those standards are breached.

I mean seriously there is a line, and it was either crossed or it wasn't.  Sometimes a quiet word from security can resolve the issue.  I mean does Fagan email all members to make sure their guests don't wear board shorts and tank tops, or does he expect standards are applied.

Maybe he could address the atrocious $150+ it cost for 2 adult tickets, or the non existent lighting whilst his rank and file members walk back to their cars in the pitch black through the parklands.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
