I've never seen a worse chase than Jordan Lewis just then -  unbelievable.   Vince also the dumbest footballer in AFL.  Finally, we've overdone the handball all season and bloody Goodwin hasn't adjusted the plan.

Vince has been one of our better players today, but have at it anyway...

That is another great example. Bugg wasn't even kicking to anyone, he was just rolling the dice. Surely if you are going to kick blindly, you do so long down the line, not directly across into the corridor 50/60m out from your own goal.

Exactly.  There has been an air of arrogance about our performance so far that is totally unwarranted.

We are playing like we did in the first half against the Bombers, except this time the opposition have the players who will make you pay for it.

This is precisely where we didn't want to be.  Show us what you are made of Dees ...... a meritorious win please!

Petracca should be playing higher up the ground. We need someone good for Hibberd and Salem to hit up.

Yes, what's happened to Trac today?

I can't see us winning this. Hawks are full of confidence, with luck and the umps on their side. It's just disappointing.

Me neither.

A disappointing display. One thing i havr learnt about supporting Melbourne is once we start flat we play flat all game.

Langford is the highest rated AFL Fantasy player at half time with 77.

Let that sink in.

As soon as I saw the late change I told my dad he'll have a great game. So typical

Oliver just came out late from rooms. Please don't let him be injured. FFS we really don't need that!

Opposition teams have figured Hunt out, has barely done a thing last few weeks.

Yeah we better drop him then…fmd he tries his guts out every week and actually looks like a half-decent player.

Agreed. It must deflate the players to work so hard and not get rewarded.

2 Hours ago on the Jaeger omission, I said: "[censored]. I hope Langford doesnt come in and have one of those rare 2014 games. Prefer a jogging Jaeger."

How was that play where T-Mac kicked into the man on the mark, tapped the ball to O-Mac who fumbled, spat out a rubbish handball to T-Mac who also fumbled, turnover, Hawthorn i50. From a centre square free kick. Poignant.

Goodwin just said we are putting Trac and Salem into the midfield with Hunt also going forward to change things up a bit.   Pretty happy to see Goodwin realise that we can't keep going the way we are and that something needed to be done.  Will it work?  No idea, but it's a start.

Goody reckons Salem and Petracca are going to be in the midfield in this second half, and Pedersen’s going to be out main ruckman.

Say what you like about Goodwin but he bloody tries things at least.

JKH, Hannan, Bugg, Oscar.

Passangers.

JKH and Hannan are babies. JKH has had his 3 weeks now, time for an alternative. Hannan would need to have a pretty solid 2nd half to be considered again next week also.

Oscar & Wags are just not able to bring the intensity required for an AFL footballer over 3 to 4 quarters ...yet. Wags another baby and might give him another 2 weeks to get his fitness and composure up and see where he takes it but not sure what this selection has brought to the team so far in this match.

As for O-Mac, i've seen enough to give me 3 nervous break downs already. By the time he makes the grade, if ever, i might be pushing up daisies and half the present team will have retired or already or been traded out and we will be looking at a replacement for him in his twilight just as he is coming good!

Bugg i would like to see him get a run at it just to see what future, if any, he has from here. I've seen him play some ok football on occasions but other times he looks bog ordinary.

Tyson's second quarter was better but off a horrible base in the first. He just doesn't have any weapons to worry the opposition and he would also need to improve big time in this second half. If he is up and down again i would seriously think about giving trenners a run and a look at it.

STOP HANDBALLING TOO OFTEN AND WE MIGHT WIN THIS!!!

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025. 2024 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence.
