Have to agree with you LDVC - I'm not sure that bully works as well!

Our last "Bull" went alright. Garry "Bull" Baker won a B&F.

Didn't Luke Tapscott go by Bull too?

His career highlight was probably breaking Rhys Shaw's ribs with one of the better hip and shoulders I've seen. Think that was the game we demolished Sydney at the G when Roos was coaching them.

No, it was the round 1 game that was a draw.

In his interview with Burgs, Smith gave a pretty heartfelt thanks to Justin Plapp. I made a similar comment last year, but Plapp would appear to be a massive asset to the club and a core element to the recent success of the alignment.

The boys in the VFL just seem to love playing for him, and when you read his player reports, he is clearly driven to try and get all his players to the next level, and he's truly part of the journey when they get there. The Tim Smith and Declan Keilty stories show that it isn't just the MFC players he strives for, but all the players under his charge. This would have to give you a lot of confidence if you were a talented footy player hoping to forge an AFL career - it probably makes Casey a destination club for that type of player.

I reckon our VFL coach has a big career ahead of him if he wants it.

You are right on the money. He is a great bloke and obviously a fantastic coach, I know Melbourne's good recruiting has helped Casey immensely, but Plappy took them from finishing second last in 2014, to minor premiers and runner ups in 2016. He puts so much time and effort into Casey and particularly the Casey listed players, and I believe he was one of the biggest factors in Bull and Dec getting drafted to Melbourne.

With what looks like another big year for Casey, as well as his appointment as VFL state coach (which is usually reserved for the most senior coaches of the VFL) his CV keeps on growing and I wouldn't be surpised at all to see him as an AFL Senior coach in the future.

When he gets the ball or goes up for a mark it should be the long dragged out BUUUUULLLL! Like they do to Josh Bruce

We've already started doing this with Weideman. Reckon, we should try something a little different.

Smith seems like a nice bloke. Hope he does really well this weekend and can carve out a career for himself at AFL level. Will only make our list stronger.

On another thread there's been some discussion as to whether a reporter made up the word "fearless", which was attributed to Goodwin.  Some posters (Lucifer being one) were sceptical and thought it was just hyperbole by the reporter in question.

I thought the signs in the background of Tim Smith's debut interview interesting.  I think we can now put it to bed.  It's safe to say it's a bit of a mantra of Goody's.

Is the 'Lucifer' a reference to my good self?

In case it is, let me set the record straight.  I started the 'Fearless Football' thread and was not one of those that doubted the reporter.  In fact I relished the concept and welcomed the team standing for something rather than being considered irrelevant.

Even if the reference wasn't to my good self why signal out one poster when there were quite a few that were skeptical of the reporter.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
