Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Could someone please tell the medical staff down at the club to whack a helmet on young Angus for f sakes how many times does this have to happen to him. If he declines to wear it he doesn't play simple as that ,every time I've seen him concussed not 1 time has he worn a helmet. GET A HELMET ON HIS NOGGEN.

I have no expertise whatsoever on the particular matter, but it's more that there are some comments that should generate an automated response to save everyone the hassle of repeating themselves.

He should wear a helmet: Helmets don't help with concussion.

We need to plan for the slippery NT conditions: Alice Springs is in the middle of an arid desert.

Trengove is too slow: Greg Williams and Sam Mitchell are slow.

MFC article talks about vandenBerg having another setback and being at least 8 weeks away.

^ I'm pretty sure I just read on the website that Max is 4-6 weeks away and that was directly from Misson.

Sometimes I wonder if there is any point in having these injury reports.

Maybe they should just call them short, medium and long term injuries like other clubs do.

The article I linked to has Max 426.

Having said that 628 is the new MFCSS 426. Try explaining that sentence to a non-Demonlander.

Yep sounds like Jake is ahead of Max from this ...

http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2017-05-24/vandenberg-mckenna-suffer-setbacks

Ruckmen Max Gawn (hamstring) is another four to six matches away and Jake Spencer (shoulder) is two to three weeks from resuming.

“Maxy, like Jake Spencer, is doing some really good work in rehab. Both of them are pretty close. Jake is probably a little bit ahead of Max. But again, they’re doing a lot of running and racking up a lot of kilometres,” Misson said.

“They’ve started doing some ruck work in their rehab, so they’re tracking really well.”

Are we the most cautious club in terms of players returning from injury? Sometimes I'm sure a fingernail chip  would result in 2 weeks with the rehab group.

I feel like VandenBerg has been 6-8 weeks for 6-8 weeks.  Let's hope he's back sometime during this decade.

Same, does any one know why Van's is still yet to play? I hope it's not going to be another foot problem like Trenner's foot.

HARD-nut Aaron vandenBerg has had a setback with his heel injury and will miss at least another eight weeks.

Elite performance manager Dave Misson confirmed the utility would now consider several options regarding his injury.

“That heel just isn’t settling the way we’d like, unfortunately for Aaron,” he told Melbourne TV.

“We’re just going to get a couple more opinions and just make a decision on where we’ll go from there.

“It’s an unusual injury and very difficult for him. It’s another disrupted season, but we’re hoping to get some good information in the next week or so and organise a plan of attack from there.”

Skuit, this is wrong.

Helmets do not prevent concussion but they can reduce the severity.

A flexible helmet slows the the impact reducing the severity, as cars have crush zones to reduce the impact the helmet allows the head to reduce speed before changing direction. It is unlikely that a helmet could prevent concussion completely but any reduction is a benefit.

That's a gridion helmet! The theory you suggest is right but the AFL helmets do squat, and may actually make things worse as the player takes more risks as they think they are protected. There is heaps of research to suggest that the more safety things you put in place the more risks get taken.

Vandenberg at least another 8 weeks away and they're going to seek further opinions as his foot just isn't healing. He's gonna be gone a while, not sure if we'll see him in red and blue again as others pass him. Shame as we could use him as a marking option and for defensive pressure up forward at the moment. Poor guy.

Great to hear Max is not too far off. He'll make us a better team instantly!

Skuit said helmets don't help with concussion. That is wrong. Why would you use a helmet that does not help when there is one available that does help? I don't care if it is a boxing, snowboard, gridiron helmet or otherwise, if it could help a player susceptible to concussion why not try it?

Remove the mesh and put on a new sponsor.

I would suggest only available to players that have had concussion.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
