Just bought my ticket – I wasn't able to purchase a General Admission Grandstand Seat (which was one of the options) so I assume they are sold out.

I'll have to slum it on Ground Level – Never been to the ground so hoping for a good viewing experience.

Are you a member? If so how much did you have to pay fr the ticket (i went to buy my ticket but realised i didn't have my member's card on me)

$20 plus the fees. Standing room only. Now wondering where to get my 4 VB cans for personal grandstand circa 1970.

You need to find the old "Depth Chargers"

made out of steel rather than aluminium!! :)

Last time i went to The Western Oval was in 1988 when Terry Wallace had his jaw redecorated!

Then he sued Grinter/defendant a couple of years later according to "Open Mike".

Last time I went out there, we had a cheap win over Fitzroy in their dying days with Farmer kicking some freak goal on the boundary line at the Barkly St end.

Yep, member which I think gives you walk-up free entry but advised to pay for ticket to ensure entry if ground reaches capacity.

That's annoying, given the ticket is for GA not a reserved seat. A bit cheeky really. Last year at Cranbourne the same ticket was $5 IIRC

I guess the questions is will there be a sell out, which would mean 10, 000 people there - a bigger crows that go to most NRL and A league games

Yep I'm a member – but haven't paid up for this year yet so assumed I wouldn't get the option to 'upgrade' until I have paid.

Cost was $22.50 including fees. Can't wait!

Got a fishing comp on Saturday so I'll be sucking back cold cans out the back of Rottnest trying to land the winning fish.

Thank goodness for Foxtel IQ.

Bought GA standing room tickets yesterday. If the game was anywhere else but Footrscray I wouldn't have bothered, but given they are reigning premiers and playing in the midst of their supporter base, I think they'll get to the 10,000 capacity.

You are probably right but jeez it is a slug. Just went on to buy a GA and the total cost was 27.85 (20 for ticket, 5 for member ticket whatever that is and 2.95 handling - which drives me nuts - handling?).

I'll probably buy it in the end but it's a fair wack for standing at a glorified practice match

Sounds like you're looking at 2 tickets? Just the membership upgrade should only cost you $5 and the 2.95 fee.

Thanks. I assumed that was the issue but went back a few times and tried again but to no avail. Perhaps you don't need to click on the one adult box? I'll try again

I think you have paid too much.I just bought mine (after multiple error messages - it took about 45 mins to complete!) and i was correct before. You don't click on any of the ticket options just put your barcarole in from your members card and click thorough to payment section. 7.95 in total. Initially i clicked on adult ticket, which seemed logical but baulked at the cost.

Thanks DeeSpencer. Saved me $20

Cost of technological incompetence - $15. :) Oh well. I'll look harder next time.

Not your fault at all. Incredibly stupid process - i mean of course you indicate you want an adult ticket! If you can bothered you should ask for a refund of the $20 they stung you. They can put a man on the moon but.....

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again faced with a classic 8 point game against a traditional rival on King's Birthday at the MCG. A famous victory will see them reclaim a place in the Top 8 whereas a loss will be another blow for their finals credentials.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie
