Im happy to use sponsors where there's an advantage.

Happy to get emails.

However...to all and sundry , don't call me, I'll call you if there's a reason to do so.

I have a landline. There is no phone connected to it. Hasn't been for 5 years ever since the cordless went flat once and we could suddenly enjoy our evenings uninterrupted.

Good to see a sponsor on board and for bext year as well.

Must admit I thought we would get something for this year only when it got this late into it.

Just on this though. What happened to this beer or alcohol company? Did we lose them to Carlton? Surely, the iSelect deal could have been done much earlier given our already established relationship?

Mercury Cider is a beverage from CUB Breweries and they're only the Blues shorts sponsor.

Not a direct replacement for CareerOne.

Prior to those phone calls, I had never been to the site or had anything to do with iSelect. Just happened out of the blue for me.

Maybe they got a list of members phone numbers from the club?

Might have access to members via sponsoring the gals. Just a thought.

Soon as I read about the sponsorship this morning I figured they probably have access. Considering a few others here have had phone calls too, it all makes sense.

FWIW I used them a couple of years ago and they helped with finding me a health insurer right for me.

Glad this issue of BOJ sponsorship can finally be put to rest.

Same here.  just the other day Optus tried to get me to put in another land line and said no way.

Is it odd that I'm disappointed this has nothing to do with beer? I feel like the brewing companies would have profited handsomely from Demons supporters over the past decade and it's only fair to give a little back. Anywho - this is surely a bail-out from a [censored]-up, right?

I don't think any clubs have any beer companies as their major sponsor. Is there a restriction here like the sports betting companies?

Not sure. But I could consult the Carlton Draught AFL Guidelines to find out for certain.

One step up from EnergyWatch.

A very big step up, though.

iSelect is a publicly listed company on the Australian Stock Exchange. It will therefore have a completely different business model to EnergyWatch. For a start, it will actually have a business model.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
