How many goals for Hogan in 2017?

how many goals should we expect Hogan to kick in 2017?

If the set shot routine improves, and the emphasis on attack continues effectively, then 60+.

If not, then he'll make just as much of a contribution moving further up the ground, as DemonAndrew says.

I don't think goals will be the measure of success for Hogan in 2017, but it would still be nice to see him crack at least 50.

Clearly he's going to be playing further up the ground based on training.  I believe he'll be far more damaging and still kick 60+ goals.

60 if he straightens up

and I expect to see him banging them on the run from outside 50 near the boundary line , just like franklins breakout year in 2007 . When that happens you'll know we've arrived as a finals team

I reckon 64 nar 72 or 75 or my number backwards 82

Infinity +1

But seriously all things going well hopefully he can average 2.5 per game which would give 55 all things being equal. I can see him having a couple of 5-6 goal (or more) games though which will hopefully push him over 60

At the end of the day if he gets 40 and we make finals I'll still be happy

69 + 1 in elimination final

And none in the finals after that?

I am thinking he is playing centre half forward so if he is successful the number of goals he kicks is secondary to how he helps the forward line to function and kick heaps of goals as a unit.

Infinity + 1 = Infinity

That's also what Freo offered him.

He and Watts will be roaming up the wings, so his output may not be as high as we hope.  That being said I'd love it if the pair of them could crack the hundred mark in total.

Give him some decent delivery and if he straightens up his kicking action, then 60 plus is not beyond him.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
