No we do have the game changers. They kick the ball straight to the opposition. Over and over again. They hand pass too much until there is a turnover. They bomb it in to the forward line without looking.

I have banged on about poor disposal for 10 years now. We got the ball today,  but literally handed it to them.

Many of their goals were just gimmes from us.

Disposal is the one thing I am really worried about, because it was atrocious in the last two games.

With decent disposal, we would still have won against the Blues and today, while still a loss, would not have been a massacre.

What I find very disappointing, is that some of the guys I would have expected to dispose adequately, don't.

PS. No doubt we have improved this year, the results speak for themselves. Unfortunately we finished with two very poor games, which leaves a sour taste in the mouth.

Disappointing to finish the season this way as it is a reminder that we can take nothing for granted despite some encouraging performances this year. It's going to be a massive 2017 with so much riding on it. It scares me given today's performance as we need top 8 to give everyone hope for the future. A disappointing 2017 would be a disaster.

Today was a shocker, but guess what. We won 10 games with one of the youngest and inexperienced sides in the comp. We have some super talent in their first and second years, and will make more good moves in the offseason. We almost stumbled into the finals, even though we aren't a finals team yet.

I have no worries what so ever that this team will be very successful in the next 2-5 years.

The poor losses were rage inducing, but when you step back, the positives on the horizon are as good as they could possibly be.

We played like horse droppings today.

I think it would be poor not to mention Geelong were sublime today. They were at their best.

If Geelong play like that every week they will pinch the flag. They were outstanding today, and we were plain horrible.

Went to the game - what an idiot!

A shattering loss. The player's focus was clearly on the keg in the rooms.  It was a drawn out, embarrassing torture. I hope the players are ashamed of themselves after that shyte.

The AFL have stuffed us up by creating two useless teams that nobody cares about and giving them the draft picks that MFC, Carlton etc should have got when we were languishing at the bottom.

A fitting end to a "near-enough-is-good-enough" season. We nearly did so many things this year, and that seemed to be enough for the boys.

Team is slow, Hunt is the only player on the field that looks dangerous, the rest look like they're running on the spot.

Vince is finished (Casey next year). No finals in 2017, still too young and no leaders.

looks to me as though goodwins going to need to run some new and improved training drills. Particularly the old don't handball to a friend when there is a triangle of rabid predators around him. He will also need to implement the dont get your friend killed kicking practice. And finally ladies and gentleman they will need to practice their sprints running. Last but not least a few talented  specials will be getting a visit from a friend to us all the head doctor. Maybe tony Lockett is looking for a job. Throw him in to our trainings hey. Here's how you do it hoges and Patricia. straight through the big ones.  I feel so lonely when my best team loses.

The year has shown some signs of improvement but our biggest issues are the way our midfielders approach stoppages. Our mid field are almost always stationary at stoppages.how many times do we see  jones,Tyson and to a lesser extent Viney  collect the ball from a tap while they are standing still.The opposition then tackle .the good teams have players like Sheuy ,Dangerfield Kennedy that hit the contest at speed and can then clear the contest.

that happened many times today and until we can do the same more often we will struggle against the good teams

Essendon are going to get pick 1, the Saints will be adding Jake Carlisle, the AFL will bail Brisbane out somehow  ...    we are going to get caught behind again if we arent ruthless at the trade table and in free agency.

I agree and i'll keep saying the same. If you can't kick at this level and hit targets to roughly AFL average (approx 68% DE by foot) a good footballer you ain't.

We have improved marginally in this area in the second half of this year (some players). Others have not and continue to murder the ball by foot. I'm not going to mention them as i think most here can see it most weeks.

I won't be scared if we trade in 3 to 4 senior/mature bodied players from outside who can play a little and hit targets by foot on a regular basis and relatively quick thinkers/runners. If we do this i'm forecasting finals in 2017 and i'm one of the most skeptical posters on the site. If we don't....then be scared....be very scared!

I've seen worse than today in the last 5 years picket but agree it was probably the 2nd worst of the year. For me the Bombers/Carlton were equally worser (apologies for murdering the English language but i'm fuming!). I can't forgive our performances and preparation (training intensity for the Blues match!) in the lead up to either of those games, nor the selection of Michie, ANB and Weids against the Blues. Got what it deserved.

This is actually a critical post. We should not forget what the AFL's big agenda/picture is. Yes, they helped us out of a fix, but at the same time they have pretty much sealed the fate of most bottom 8 clubs in the next 5 to 8 years with their draft concessions. Then there's free trade. Don't get me started on that!
