Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

But Saty said he kicks it over 50m at training

It may be that he does though, which again just points to it being an issue of confidence.

He kicked 7.1 against the Aints and 5.1 against Brisbane.  Last year he kicked 44.19.  Fundamentally, he must be able to kick.

It would be bloody nice to see him have a nice, fluid set shot action like Watts does, I'll admit.  If we can get ProDee to say "if only Hogan was a bit more like Watts", I'll have officially seen everything on this forum. :)

NO CHANGE. Weed has a taste of AFL footy which is good, I would like for him to work on his physical strength and not take a risk in case of injury.2017 he will get plenty of game time. Regardless whether Pedo did not play well, not everyone in a winning side needs to play well.

I've spent a fair bit of time at training and keenly kept an eye on Hogan's goal-kicking and I've never seen him attempt a kick from 50 or beyond.  He always sets up about 35 metres out.

I understand the rationale to rest Hoges, but it comes across as a risky decision because though he has off days, when he is on, he is on. I just have a feeling he is going to have a cracker next week and make up for the past couple of games. That being said, it is tough trying to see how we change the team. On another note, can we just acknowledge how far Oscar McDonald has come? It really is all starting to pay off...

The ones who struggled against Port were Hogan, Harmes and Garlett. Hogan had a quiet patch last year too, but came through it so leave him be. Harmes out for Salem but only if Salem plays an exceptional game for Casey today. The difficult one is Garlett. He may stay in to stick one up Carlton but his attitude and concentration at th moment are below standard. Again, if JKH plays a good game then he comes in for Garlett.

Disagree. Reckon Garlett was okay work rate-wise. Vandenberg's the guy I'd be dropping. He wouldn't have marked a beachball last night. And he continues to be a contender for our worst handballer. Most of them go at the feet of his team mates.

Garlett will probably be saved by his two late goals. Might be a confidence boost for him.

But most of his problems lately have been from laziness near goal. He continually gets behind his opponent, on purpose, to try to tip the ball out the back and go for the flashy goal. Low percentage.

Also he has "small forwards disease" where he wants to dribble the ball through the posts. Like his point last night. Why give the ball an opportunity to take a bad bounce or slice like a golf shot. Unless you're on an impossible angle and the only way to get it though is to try for the sideways bounce, kick the thing in the air, over the line. Balls don't tend to take bad bounces in the air.

I like that we waste time each week debating Hogan. We know he won't get dropped but we like to pretend because he hasn't signed for 5 years that Roos might drop him. 2nd year forward in the top 10 afl goal kickers - we persist because of the development and upside.

Harmes, Pedersen, and VDB will be discussed but unless Weid has a great week on the track or Salem has a blinder, no change.

Agreed.

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.
