If we play as we last week, it's a 100 point loss. If we play as we did against Hawthorn, we might win. I was far more disappointed after losing to the Saints by 30 than I was after losing to the Hawks by 18.

I'd be filthy if they lost, but "it is what it is". If we get smashed *again* I'll be just as annoyed as you.

We're not Hawthorn. We're a club that is trying to transition into a winning club, and sometimes that means making the opposition actually work to beat you. We have let Saints, Eagles beat us up for a decade. Taking it to them and making them work for it rather than push us down like always, I'd take pleasure in that.

OD, we are not the players. Our mental attitude does not affect what will happen in the next few hours.  I too enjoy wins and I hate losses. But I also can see that a closely fought loss is more enjoyable (or less hated, take your pick) than a miserable pummelling by 186 points.

Sydney struggled the first time they had pouring rain in a match (vs GC). Second time, vs us, they knew what to do a lot better.

My hope is we learnt something from the Sydney game about playing in the rain.

I wouldn't say pathetic, just haven't played smart footy.  We did well against the Hawks, but struggled against the Swans.  Hopefully with a few wet games under our belt we will have learned from our mistakes (ie - kicking it forward as often as we can as opposed to handballing)

Over time I think it does sue.

If the membership is wishey washey then the people running the club subconsciencely  take that on board and it is transfered finally to the playing group.

I am not suggesting if we dont care  this afternoon then the players will only give 95%

But over  a couple of decades  of this attitude it becomes part of the fabric of the club.

The nearly good enough attitude is then the Actual.

The supporters and members of a number of other clubs demand wins and complain when they dont get them we accept close losses.

Ye, but last time we were playing Sydney who had quite a bit of experience playing in the wet (pretty much every 2nd week at the time). West Coast don't have that experience, nor do they have the contested bulls Sydney have.
