Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Are you seriously suggesting that ANB and Bugg for Vince and another (say Kennedy) would have stopped that absolute garbage from the entire rest of the team?

Get a grip.

Mate, did you even read what I wrote? It's not about the players individually, it's about the overall effect on the team. Vince has been rubbish today as has Harmes. For THIS game at THIS ground against THIS opposition, fresh legs and run was vital, but yet again we were too gutless at selection and will pay the price.

We are winning everything bar tackles and score. That indicates we are overusing the ball and making silly errors, and that they are getting out and running free. Tidy up the disposal and increase pressure on them and we should win. Not sure I can see it happening unfortunately.

yeahh..........no.

Armitage? That's as ridiculous as suggesting their best is six goals better than our best.

Except they're just about to prove it for the second time, while only starting in the second quarter.

We become complacent when we are in front. Can't play four quarters of football. Typical Melbourne. Haven't changed much.

The problem was, we were in front but not actually playing all that well, we just took our chances better  than they but the run of play was pretty even.

Once they started taking their chances they got on top.

I did, and it was utter tripe. Complete nonsense. Explain very clearly for me. Bringing ANB for Vince in means that the rest of the team gets a better rest on the day?

It's just absolute rubbish.

What changed.  Richardson adjusted setup and game to counter ours.

What did we do ?

Let them !!.... and little to show from the box.

Hopefully this is corrected.

Here's the thing, the Saints best is six or more goals better than ours, but inconsistency has killed their season. They also know that if they go hard at us, we'll melt like butter, and either overuse the ball more, or just bang away, both behaviours that they set up for and then burn us with quick hands and speed. As much as I hate it, they're just that much better than us, with the added ability of being able to make us look like schoolchildren. Steven, Armitage, Riewoldt, Montagna are also all better than any of our best players.

No it's not. The first quarter was their best against our best.

They simply know how to nullify our game. We don't have a clue, and don't learn anything about them from one game to the next.

Stop them getting it on the outside, and when they do get it on the outside we need to close them down further up the ground. If we don't, we may not get another goal.

Still winnable. However, Saints play like they know they can beat Melbourne. Melbourne plays like they'll probably lose.

Against Hawthorn, Geelong last year, we played like we could win. The Saints being on an even level with us, it is clearly a mental thing. They toy with them and know exactly how to do it

Inagine what Riewoldt says to the team?

"They're nothing. They have no confidence. They can't beat us."

They are so confident against us.

Their pressure is forcing our players to take a short option, or panic handball option, while waiting for the guarded territory to open up. Its just not opening up.....

Hogan back problems again?

If so rest him for the remainder of the season

But don't worry, an opportunity for Dawes ?

Just watching a replay of last time we played them here! They run back into the forward line with no player on them, then they kick over the top to that player and goal!

Every single player just outrun by their opposition, yeah you're right we're not tired at all.

Use your eyes. You're wrong. Simple as that.

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,
