2 million dollar man, Dawes

Recommended Posts

He isn't the future.  Never has been.

The problem is that we don't have the right replacement as such.  We all know his flaws, we all know that right now he contributes little to the senior side.  But if you take him out, who goes in?  Weed and Hulett just aren't ready.  Pedersen is out.  Dunn or Garland up forward?  We tried, with little success.  They even had to abandon the Frost experiment.

Until there is someone to take his spot we might just have to put up with him a little longer...

Would make a great goal umpire because his marking action is same as a 9 pointer super goal

Unfortunately, he'd only get games during the NAB Challenge.

And there's no problem here, but I'd play Spencer instead of Dawes. Spencer is more likely to kick goals, he's also more likely to take marks and I wouldn't be surprised if Spencer (who is surprisingly fast) is quicker. Dawes' man runs off him anyway, as long as it's not super wet, I'd be playing Spencer until Pedo is fit and/or Hulett or Weideman is ready.

If Garland were to come in (or Dunn maybe), I'd have him back and put T Mac forward. Even though his role is still important a change of position would help his confidence. Frost has a bit of goal sense but will hardly get a touch up there. We could also go smaller, placing Harmes/Petracca inside 50 (both of whom played a lot behind the ball), but both are very strong and can leap. I think the undersized key forward can still work, such as Sicily at Hawthorn.

Can't mark.

csnt kick goals.

if your highest paid key forward can't do those two things then what's the point?

Hey, don't forget he's a "defensive" forward. Sounds odd but such things exist in other sports and other vocations. Like hurdlers in track and field who can't jump. ("Give him a break, he's a non-jumping hurdler.") Shooters who can't hit targets. Pool players who can't sink balls. Musicians who can't play their instrument. They can be very successful. Think George W Bush. Or Sid Vicious. Or Eddie the Eagle.

The Alistair Nicholson of the forward line.

Al was much loved.

Unfortunately all his days seem to be bad.

i've wondered if Roos plays him to fatten him up for trade, like he did with Frawley and Howe. Only Chris isn't doing his end of the bargain.

Wow, just wow.

A required player. He has a role.

Watts off the hook, now Dawes.....who's next? Oh, I know.....Bugg!

Not sure what AFL side has a requirement for jogging around, dropping marks, missing kicks and being a complete statue on a football field... Watts off the hook? Because his playing good football.

Its not like he even takes pressure off Hogan.. Teams know they can put anyone on him because he can't take a mark.. He has 16kg on pencil Lever and he still couldn't out body his opponent

Required player!? Surely your taking the [censored] now.

Open your eyes mate. Adds zero impact on field. Can't mark, can't run, Can't even go and give Gawn a chop out  because he struggles to get off th5w ground. Oh and most importantly struggles to even kick a goal as a power foward. The main key aspect as a forward.

The sooner he is at Casey fields the better.

The entire panel of On The Couch has just written Dawes off.  Was singled out as being the primary player that now must make way for the future as we can now not possibly play finals.

But wait, I'm sure in the true spirit of  Demonland everyone on that Panel is a know nothing, has been [censored]. Oh well, best we ignore them and continue with this waste of space Dawes.

Unfortunately another Neeld era blunder. Payed overs to player as we couldn't attract much to the trainwreck @ the time!

Playing very poor & can't even bring the ball down to create a contest & ball rebounds too quickly!

Neeld? Who drafted Hogan, Hogan2014? How's your therapy going? Talk to me....

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
