God Carlton supporters must just spew everytime this guy kicks a bag....well, keep spewing then.

Love watching Jeffy play, creates such excitement, and his partnership with Hogan Kent and Kennedy is starting to pay dividends,it's like they have a sixth sense with each other.

One of my faves to watch along with Viney, Oliver and Hogan, just can't get your eyes off him

He still young too, we will get another 120+ games out of him.  Thanks Carltank

Players like Garlett kick goals in finals. They love to run with crowd energy

The Wizard had it too

Another 3 years, what a pick up!

Noice.

During his first year at Carlton I often said to myself: "Man I wish this guy were at the MFC."

Have to agree with the universal love (excepting of course Mick Malthouse) for Jeffy. This is brilliant news. If I had another child (boy or girl), I'd call them Jeffy. Pity I've had the snip

Jeffy!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm stoked!!

If Farmer was the Wiz, I'd say Jeffy is Dobby, the free elf, rescued from the evil Malfoys (Carlton).

...what can i say i read to my kids...

Thanks Nev Jetta!

Hope Carlton enjoyed the twisties and coke we traded for him!

Excellent News

Carlscum shall continue to weep.

Colonel Hogan's right hand man surely this must help.

And just look who Richmond got!!

Was surprised to learn he probably has the best leap on the team. Also Jeff has organised all the players boots to have indigenous artwork on them this round, which should look great

Love, love, love this bloke! The closest we've had to a new Wiz since he left for Fremantle.

Bloody hard to choose which recruit in the last 3 years has been the best, when you're looking at a list of players like Vince, Cross, Tyson, Bugg, Kennedy... but for pure scoring ability Garlett is an absolute freak!

Carlton drafted Clem Smith with the pick we traded for him. The same guy involved in a drunken off-season brawl this summer.

Yeah, didn't want to go there, but the irony did make me chuckle.

Good on you Jeff you have made our forward line into a bit of a mine field for opposition defenders, it's great to have you on board until 2019, another arrow in the quiver - Go Dee's

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?
