Christian Petracca - Rising Star

Older demon

Recommended Posts

While the Rising star poll goes on I thought I would mention that the coaches votes are in for this round and Stretch, Petracca and Oliver are all in the votes from our game. How good is that 3 kids under the age of 21 with a handful of games in the votes, that must be something of a record. Surely Stretch or Petracca will get yet another MFC Rising Star nomination after Oliver and Harmes. There is so much development in this squad of players.

Damn on checking he played 11 games last year so is ineligible next in line Petracca.

This just shows how blatantly wrong Schwab's Red & Blueprint was.

It is staggering that someone can get something so wrong when i am sure he wanted it to work

Remind me what the Blueprint was.

Oh i am loving it. But it just shows that it aint Rocket Science to recruit young kids with the right attitude.

Hey i hope Schwab still reads this site in the shadows and feels sick in his guts for what he let happen...

We all paid good hard earned

Stretch was sublime. Would be hard to look past him. Trac was great but the edge to Stretchy this round.

I believe SOS (Son of Stretch) played 11 games last year, making him ineligible.

The 20-year-old had displayed signs of his prodigious talent but he found his consistency on Sunday, racking up 21 disposals as well as being involved in 11 of Melbourne's score involvements.

Petracca also laid seven tackles and was credited with 21 pressure acts in his fourth AFL game.

Fair enough, didn't realise he played that many

You'd be forgiven. He was sub in most of those games so realistically he probably only played about 5 full games!

Congratulations to Petracca! He's going brilliantly so far for only 4 games in. Consistently winning ball and being involved in lots of scoring chains. He could develop into something seriously special.

Great to see him gaining confidence in his body too. He had a few rough landings after marks on the weekend that would've tested his knee and he held up and fine.

I am not sure how to access those stats, but would 11 score involvements be some sort of high, also 21 'pressure acts'?

He is an animal. Can't wait to see how he develops in the next couple of years.

Scary

Yeah. He could be quite good once he gets a few more games under his belt. ?

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
