Pretty big interpretation imo, maybe he's always been the way he is, maybe it's a response to his fathers previous issues. Maybe he's a robot.

The first quarter was terrible over possession by hand and forwards losing their confidence and not moving.

The 2nd quarter was rushed ball movement which created some good moments but left us open down back.

The 2nd half we finally found the balance between over using it and moving it quickly and the forwards worked really well to lock it in and score and the backline had more time and less pressure to get their set ups right.

Gold Coast really folded when we got a lot of momentum up and it's nice to see us put the foot down. 

There's no doubt in my mind that our game plan works perfectly when we are on top and I think it can hold up against better teams, it just requires a lot of pressure, run and skill. Which is really the basis of modern AFL right now. Also needs a lot of team work both defending and to attack, which is a good thing I think because every player is forced to play together.

As someone else mentioned above, we are still young and we aren't going to win every week, but if we bring this application to each game then we are in with a chance of beating any club in the competition.

In 2011 we were 3-3-1, in 2010 we were 3-4.

Last time we were 4-3 was 2006.

Just saw a goal from Harmes where Petracca laid the tackle in the centre square, sprung to his feet to sprint forward to make the option and then did the team thing and fed an easy goal to Harmes. So good to watch!

The quality of CCTV equipment is rapidly increasing. I've witnessed a demo at Etihad stadium where you can have one camera covering half of the crowd and be able to digitally zoom in and identify individuals from across that distance. Of course framerate is another thing but it's still possible. Wireless quality is also increasing. Getting up to gigabit wifi bandwidth is easy enough these days. 

But with goal line tech, it should be easy enough to have something hard wired inside the goalpost and just trench across from the fence to the post. 

With the money that they are bringing it, it would be pocket change...

To kick 24 goals with Hogan and Watts combining for just 1 shows that we are building massive depth.

Massive test next week. We get "lucky" in some regards to get the Dogs in their first game for the year away from Etihad. 7 weeks in a row for them on the hard surface, with them not playing the G well and, fingers crossed, 30,000+ MFC supporters there. If we bring the right attitude and we limit the clangers we can beat them, I believe that.

Trouble is , against the Bulldogs, we always seem to get screwed by the umpires. Been going on for years

Another little point, in Roos's first year coaching us we didn't score over 100 points once. Last night we scored over 100 points in a half!

You can get crystal clear vision of a cricket ball as it cannons into a bat at 160kmh but the AFL can only manage a few dodgy camera angles and a shitty picture to adjudicate from.

If the AFL is going to continue with score reviews then invest in the technology that is currently available and adequate.

It's interesting some bring up the fact that the Dogs get a good run from the umpires - they are currently first in frees for, but we are third as well.  I think the good run from the umps, for us, has slipped under the radar a touch.

It depends on how those frees were handed out

During the Tassie game it felt like North were receiving a substantial bias in the free kick department, always in a dangerous position and if not were given 50 to aid them. To balance the ledger, we received plenty of soft decisions that were Not in positions of advantage. As for Razor Ray...

Agreed. It's when and where. North's frees were game defining as were Hawthorn's against St Kilda.

The way the clubs handing concussions lately and so they should, I'm worried...don't think it's really up to the player to decide ...we really need him against the dogs.

On frees to us last night: at one stage i saw we were about 16-9 up and i couldn't believe it. If we had 9 as well I would have been surprised. A lot of contested marks get awarded as free kicks instead for pushing,  holding etc. even though the mark is taken. We take a lot of contested marks and i wonder if this bumps our free kick numbers up.
