You have many likes, but I must say that I can't say I see the profundity others do.

He is not "just another draftee that shows promise".

Why isn't he?         I would rather save the rapturous applause for when he actually plays.

Played very well in 1 and a 1/2 games in the VFL so has Mitchie ANB and several others.

I just hope you are right but I will wait until 1/ He is selected    2/ Plays some games in the seniors    before I start lauding him as some others have

One of the biggest lesssons we learned in round 2 is that you don't bring in underdone players with the interchange cap. the Tigers have bought in at least two, i understand they desperately need a win here but it's a huge risk.

Whoever is on Lids needs to run all over the place, and i'm sure Max will give Maric the run around.

Only missing VB from our best 22, we will win.

Good point, certainly no excuses in terms of the players we've got available. But then I thought the side we had in against Essendon was the best in 8 years so we need to come out hard from the 1st minute.

Only VB ?? I would suggest in a month of Sundays If IF we were to play finals Dawes, Oliver and Petraca, would all play!!

Don't forget Weeds Trengove and perhaps Grimes al in the mix!

If the goals were on the wings then Grimes would be first  picked.

So what is the 'Final Team"??

I notice Petracca wasn't picked again.

You've got a great habit of being wrong on a regular basis picket.  It's quite a skill.

Anxiety at it's optimum. If we haven't the faintest what's going on thanks to their cards being close to their chest. Over at Tigger Land they're pulling their hair out looking for an advantage, deep down knowing selecting Deledio comes at a risk. It's a long season.......If I were Dimma, unless I was 100% confident, I wouldn't be selecting him.

Not feeling any anxiety. My man told me what he told me and it once again proved to be correct. I've always believed we'll win and still do

Yes whilst I thought Hunt played ok v Pies, he still needs more skills and a harder body when it gets tough.

Petracca in next week ... baring injuries to replace Hunt. ANB and Michie would be very close.

Every midfielder, flanker or pocket player on our list would be ahead of him right now.

Still ahead of Michie as he's actually on the senior list.

dont we still have a spot open? so i'd have michie ahead.

Fantastic, I'm glad I know that now.

We have young Smith playing on a flank. On form Michie is in front of a few players. No need for the smart arse response.

Agree about the smart Alec response but what are you talking about with respect to Joel Smith?

he tried to back track by saying Newton was ahead because he was on the main list, so I brought up smith who is also a rookie, who Michie would be in front of.

It's a nonsensical argument.

We're talking about a guy that was universally regarded as the best player in his draft year.  A guy that without playing a game has been lauded as the best talent his next senior coach has seen train (according to Wayne Carey).  Plenty of excited supporters watched this freak talent play for Victoria in juniors, have seen him train and watched him play for Casey.  Yet you want them to keep their raptures in check until you see it for yourself at AFL level ?

How about you let them please themselves while you please yourself ?

Some supporters have a pretty good handle of predicting what a player should become while others don't want a bar of it until they see it for themselves.  They want the proof first and not the talk.  I guess we fall into two distinct categories.  I've seen enough, read enough and experienced enough over many years to know where excitement levels should be over this yet to debut youngster.  And I don't really want to be told how excited I should or shouldn't be.

Backtrack? Righto. You had to bring up a B level rookie to try and prove your point. Doesn't look all that flash for Michie.

This is a massive game.

Feel like I'm watching footy again circa 2000.

I. Am. Pumped.

As an aside, I hope the Tiges play an underdone Deledio, and Vince and Bugg work him over all night. Relentlessly. He finishes the game with 3 touches, no effective disposals and sits the entire last quarter on the bench because he's sick to death of being tackled as soon as the ball comes within 15 metres of him.

Petracca will debut against the Saints. That Panther will likely kick 5 goals and finish the game with 30 disposals, following which he'll give Roos and Goodwin the bird in the box and mouth the words, 'told you so!'.

Roos and Goodwin will however just smile, and wink at one another in a way that acknowledges that they've handled this kid perfectly.

He'll then go on to win the Rising Star.

This club is now a professional outfit.

Except Petracca, by the sounds of it!I

Love the story, Ron. It has no relationship whatsoever with reality, but I still love it.

I didn't want Petracca selected this week, because I didn't think his fitness would be quite up to speed, but I'm aware of the talent that awaits and won't curb my enthusiasm.
