I know it gets said a lot, but what a great pick up he has been, relative to what he cost us. We were crying out for a good 40 goal a year small forward as well.

Anyway, glad he got off. It was stupid, but very low impact and was never really going to draw too much attention.

Career best form AND improving. Just a gun. What a classy player. Hopefully we get the best out of him.

I also appreciated the little apologetic hand up gesture to the umpire where Garlett acknowledge he'd made the mistake.

And that it didn't disrupt his concentration.

Honestly he is one of our most important players now. Glad to hear he will be out there Vs the bombers.

Loving the chemistry brewing between he and BenK too.

Throw in Kent and it's a nice mix of speed, skill and aggression.

Could've hit Davis a bit harder to make Hogan's day a bit easier, but oh well.

There was nothing in it other than a very obvious careless high tackle free kick

Still, with the MRP's  history one just never knows

Move on and enjoy the win.

Rightfully so, nothing more than a free kick

Couldn't agree more, Its a joke it was referred. It was in play and a little clumsy. Rightfully a free. That's it.

the pushing &holding and interference on the the fwds by GWS was borderline and at some times surpassed within the rules.

So Garlett gets fined $1000 for a late brush on Davis. Suckling gets off scott free for clocking a Geelong player in circumstances very similar. We won't mention Merrett breaking Pederson's face and it's play on.

Couldn't agree more. It was one of the reasons I left early. Then, a miracle happened, they found 2 free kicks for Hogan, both of which were probably less deserved than some of the manhandling of Watts and Hogan in particular for most of the first three quarters.

Hodge dropping a knee onto Bartel, no case move on, any thoughts? Probably of no consequence now that he is injured and out for 6.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
