When does Petracca get unleashed?

He's yet to play a full game though hasn't he just played 1/2-3/4 's? Probably needs a couple of full games in the VFL first..

He would have got a fair few minutes due to 3 Casey players getting injured early for the whole game.

Wel he definitely played the entire last quarter, and was on screen for just about every moment

I'd play him, he is clearly a class above the VFL already and his fitness by all reports seems to be pretty close to the mark, even if he just plays as a forward he'll be very dangerous

Agreed. He started in the TAC cup as a forward then turned himself into a midfielder to add an extra string to his bow. He is a strong mark, explosive and a good kick for goal.

I want to see him out there, I desperately do. But I feel it's going to be the Tigers for get to feel the full force of the Petraccattack.

They are clearly working his minutes up and it seems like the weekend was still sky of a full game. One full game at Casey and he's in (assuming he continues his form). Trenners could be St Kilda or he following week (being available for senior selection at least).

I reckon he's a chance to get picked. I know it would go against their stated timeline but i wonder if they might drop AVB and bring in the Trac. You can see he is a big stage player and would bring an x factor to the forward line.

Playing him in VB's  role as a permanent forward wouldn't expose any issues with his tank (though for Pete's sake he must be pretty fit by now surely) and how good would it be for the buzz at the club if he lit up the g against the old enemy and helped us snag a win.  Particularly if he did so alongside Hogan and Oliver (and perhaps Brayshaw) in the team.

It would make the ANZAC eve game a real blockbuster (imagine the pies and tigers in successive weeks - both clubs would go into meltdown! Oh my i'm getting way ahead of myself. It's that Pollyanna syndrome flaring up)

I'd be surprised if he is picked and this is purely based on fitness. 3 quarters of one real McCoy game ( against a very poor team) doesn't mean he is ready fitness wise for an AFL game.

I understand that they do play some players below full fitness but these are mature footballers with a few seasons under their belts and know how to pace themselves.

Anywho - it will be the fitness team who ultimately have the final say.

KI could envisage Brayshaw, Petracca and Trengove coming in one at a time over the next few weeks.

Most unlikely to introduce more than one each week.

They'll be wary after playing both Brayshaw and Oliver against the Bombers. It's too costly to play guys who can't run out the game and we'll want to make sure we give ourselves the best chance of winning the next 3 games.

Would not be playing Petracca until Round 8 or even Round 9. There is absolutely no need to rush him. Make sure he's right to go. We don't want his body breaking down again, because we've put him in too early.

Watching that Casey 4th quarter (admittedly not a great sample size), but he didn't seem to me to work that hard defensively. Either he doesn't or he was knackered by that stage. Let him play two full games at VFL level and prove himself. He hasn't played a full game yet. Let's manage our players professionally this time, instead of debuting him for the sake of the impatience of fans.

Lots of people don't notice this and call for Kent's head. Defensive pressure has been relatively good so far in 2016 thanks to these two.

The defensive pressure has been passable for two weeks. I'd say it was very good against North and passable against GWS. But Kent didn't get to enough contests to apply pressure in Round 2.

Most people notice this about Kent. The problem was it was abnormally non-existent against the Bombers and his opponent Tipungwuti ran amok.

I think he played extra minutes this week because of the injuries...

Bruce would be beside himself in the commentary box if this happened v Richmond. There'd be a few nervous co-commentators too.

I'm sure Ethan will accept your apology

Talk about a lippy Petracca!

Lining up for goal and a 150kg Franky supporter yells out "out of bounds d**ckhead"

Trac kicks it and turns straight around to the crowd and yells  "what was that mate?"

Brave. Or a little unwise.

Given the low quality of Frankston and the ease at which this game was played compared with the AFL vs North, I'd suggest Trac (and others) has to dominate at 90+% GT against a quality opposition to warrant a call up.

Sorry to go off topic but there were quite a few amusing comments by the Frankston crowd besides the one directed at Petracca. They gave the umpires a serve when they walked back on to the ground after half time. There was another one in the last quarter,I haven't watched the replay so I dont know if the mic picked it up but it went along the lines of 'hey Terlich put a hat on,the reflection coming off your head is killing me.' As far as I could tell, most of the Casey crowd took the comments in a lighthearted fashion.

As for Petracca, although I'd love to see him play seniors as soon as possible,I think a few more weeks at Casey would be more beneficial in the long term.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
