Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I watched the game.  He had little impact.

I'm not knocking the bloke personally, but he had little influence on the game.  I wish him well at Port, but he was far from good today.

But he wasn't bad either. No "headlight" moments that typified his time at MFC.

True, although his ability to have little actual impact on the game also typified his time at MFC as well.  If I was a Port fan I'd be slightly disappointed that he couldn't have more of an impact in a weakened team.  Well outside their best 25 at the moment.

Back to Parish.

I think Essendon are in a really good position with Parish.

Once Viney snaps him in half they'll have two of him. May help their top up situation by one.

We have the opposite problem in regards to Viney. If he goes in too hard, we won't have him at all (rubbed out).

I would like to see Oliver just run straight through Parish when we play them.

Toumpas played a "vanilla" game and had 13 disposals.

In the same game a "no gamer" in Callum Mills (22 possessions/5 marks) showed what a top 5 pick really looks like(if you get lucky).

And what a contrast there was between the two.

Which is why we bid on Mills in the last draft (though more than happy to have Oliver)!

Sigh.

The kid did actually did ok.

shame that people only want to hear and see our failed draft picks suffer at other clubs.

(scully is a different story)

Rubbish.  I wish him all the best at his new club, just like Fitzpatrick at Hawthorn.  I called his game as I saw it, and I'm glad you've changed your tune as well - he was ok, at best.

A midfield of Gawn-Brayshaw-Petracca-Oliver will give opponents nightmares in a few years. I'm happy with our decision.

Add Viney and Tyson to that list and our future midfield sounds pretty good.

Oliver will crush Parish if itis a one on one. Doupas shouldn't should never be mentioned in the same sentence as wines. My do the people who run this wbsite censor your comment "to say". A midfield of Spencer ………….. would give MFC supporters nightmares. These comments were not mentioned on the above topic. I commented on Parish v Oliver yesterday seem to have disappeared. Why do comments get censored when there is no vulgar language used yet people can call other silly, you must be drunk etc? Has anyone else had the same sort of prolems, perhaps the moderators can answer the question.

I think we have learnt over the past few years that skinny kids who have good skills at junior level don't always develop well at AFL level which is were we went wrong with Tompes over Wines and went right with Oliver over Parish.

Instead of attacking the poster attack the the argument. That is where you sadly always go wrong Wiseblood, cause generally your opinions are quite sound.

i saw Toumpas game differently, let's leave it at that.

I wasn't attacking you at all mate.  I was attacking your argument that my view of his game was based more on my hope that he does poorly at his new club, as opposed to just basing my view on his game as a whole.  I liked Toumpas and was slightly disappointed to see him go, although in the grander scheme of things it was necessary for him to move on.

But yes, we saw it differently and neither of us will be able to convince the other to take the opposite view.

Fair call.

Do you think Toump will become a player? I do, although I don't think he will be a world beater but I recon he will have a 150+game career.

It's up in the air at the moment.  He has gone to a very strong side that has an excellent midfield already, so I think for him to have a 150+ game career he will need to turn himself into a good half forward or half back.  He isn't in their best 25 at the moment and, while he is handy for their depth, he will need a bit of luck and plenty of hard work to make it.  I hope he can too, but I have my doubts.

Didn't he go well in the NAB with us? Wait for the season proper and the pants will be soiled.

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
