Nearly 200 in a week. Slowing to a treacle. We'll beat our all time record but.......

...On the positive side of things....a good win over Collingwood followed by a home game blockbuster v Richmond will produce a surge over the membership desk one would hope!

Nothing like stalling, what could have been again 38-40,000 will now just fall over 37K, unless of course we beat Collingwood, Richmond and St Kilda all three games we can win if our players want to.

If only we had beaten Essendon followed up by our spirited performance against North then we would be already there. Still a chance however if we whip the Pies (when they are playing at home) followed by the Tiges.

We are letting them play at our home, our players should remember that every time. It's our home, theirs is over the road.???

Yep, absolutely.  I am going to lodge my own land rights writ.

Really hope people start signing on! You can see where the club is heading and though not perfect we are playing some great footy.

Should really be cracking the 40K and will be disappointed if we don't!

Looking at this, the minimum we should be getting year in, year out is 40k. Really 50k is where we need to be to be comfortable.

The Dogs must be in a world of trouble. Considering the year they had last year and their start to this year to only have 32k is alarming.

Just received a call from my father today. Dad is in his nineties and has been a longtime MFC member until he finally let it lapse this year because he is not steady enough on his feet to battle through the crowds from Richmond station. Last Sunday my brother picked him up in a cab and took him to the Dees vs Pies game and he had a ball. Imagine his surprise today when he received a MFC membership package in the mail recognising his many years of membership and telling him that a MFC staff member had paid his renewal on his behalf. Thank you Melbourne Football Club!

I would have hoped that after our performance last Sunday, we would have had a boost in numbers, but we seem to have stagnated.  If we knock off the Toigs this week, it will be interesting to see what happens.  If no bump in membership figures then, it becomes a little bit concerning.

I'm involved with Auskick and Junior Footy, I wonder if these membership numbers include the free memberships.  North have just did the schools in my area offering kids free 3 game memberships, they have just sent out to all Auskickers offering the same.

Of course, if you replace "MFC" with "ALP" this would be a front page newspaper story about Labor Party branch stacking.

Yep, tell Bronwyn Bishop about stacking the pre-selection numbers.

I suspect they are holding back the numbers to announce we've broken our record at an opportune time to get some good press

Volunteers were in Monday and Tuesday nights doing usual renewal calls and achieved 50 odd new renewals so we hopefully we will have the record beaten by the Richmond game. Would be great to announce a new record on Sunday night. I would hate to suggest it might announce a renewal of the the mighty MFC.

We should not though be satisfied with just breaking the record so all you Demonlanders who are able to purchase an additional membership, even an armchair membership($69), for a longsuffering supporter or a Collingwood supporter looking for a winning team to support, ring the Club on 1300 336 667 or go on-line and sign up another member.

Does anybody know if the players are going to do another call around to sign up members? My other half is a Carlton supporter but is slowly coming around to the Dee's. If Hogan could jump on the phone and make a call, the conversion would be complete.

probably waiting for those members who microwaved their cards after the essendrug game to buy replacements :o

I have never understood the idea of Micro waving your card.

I can understand cutting it up and sending it back.

But if you Micro it you are only one who knows you are [censored] off.

If you send it back a couple at the club might know you are less than happy.

Or am I missing something?

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
