Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

This is from the same poster who has also said:

- Goodwin will be head coach in 2016

- Dylan Shiel will be at Hawthorn in 2016

Can't remember specifics, but I'm sure partyboy has runs on the board.

I assume he has some good mail, but it is hit & miss. Don't dismiss it out of hand.

He was playing on one foot when he last played...

Why the negativity?

Imagine if he came back and played as well as he did in his first season.

The reports I have heard are that he looks to be running at a similar pace.

I'm entitled to be cautious, just as you are entitled to only see the positives.

Like I said, i hope he plays, and plays well. Maybe I'm just a little more realistic than some.

The speed isn't a huge issue because of Trengoves Aerobic ability, he is perfectly suited to the intererchange cap

It will be if it hasn't improved dramatically from his pre break speed.

Agree with the aerobic ability. I think it will be an enormous advantage with the interchange cap. Has improved scullys worth as a player already, and we all know Trenners is a much better "footballer" than scully.

I don't think so, it's definitely better than it was, he looks far more free in his running and he's picked up some speed but he's still not super quick, but he will just get to so many contests which is what we need him to do, be that hard running mid, like a Daniel Cross or Joey Montagna

My suggestion is to do what I do - I read the more bizarre posts to my lovely lady who knows nothing about football - she loves now Demonland. She  thinks Demonland is like your crazy old uncle - farts at the dinner table, fly always undone and refers to anyone not born in this country as #$#%$$ or $$##%$$^ or worse still @!#@@#$%. ( when I say i read her the more bizarre posts - that is about 1 in every 3).

I thought it was a perfectly weighted pass straight into the hands of Trengove who was positioning himself at the top of the goal square.

The biggest issue was not his speed as such it was the lack of power he had in the contest. He had no leverage off his foot and his contested work suffered.

If you watch a player like Dom Tyson, who I would suggest Trengove has covered for pace, he (Dom) is rarely, if ever moved off the ball in a contest. He has enormous strength through the core. Trengove similarly was very strong in the contest, a great example of that was the Danger tackle where he rag dolled him.

It was sad to see Trenners not being able to influence a contest, you could see he was broken. The Casey reports have him back and inside the contest dishing the ball out and/or using his smarts to get on the end of the ball.

Hodge, Selwood, Thompson, Bartel...these are a few that don't have great leg speed but have footy smarts and are strong at the contest. Trengove has the same smarts, if he's injury free I would expect the power to be back and that is the vital ingredient to have Jack back and on his way again.

Would love to see Trenners put on a back flank and play a similar role to what Boyd does for the Dogs.

We need a football brain back there and a bloke who can create with vision and foot-skills.

Would love to see him back against the Lions this week.

Jordie was having a shot at goal.

Actually it would be interesting to see how his straight line speed compares with some of the other midfielders we have, I don't think it helps if you have good speed but can't get to where the ball is.

There have been plenty of times I've seen Melbourne players tailing off behind their opponents.

If JT was going to play i think we'd know by now, they'd have a video on the website of the boys being told, JT playing his first game back is nearly a bigger deal than some of our young guys playing their first games.

I completely agree with this but if they are going to do it you would want him getting a good block of footy in that role at Casey. I am surprised that he has been used predominantly as an inside mid.

He might have asked the coaches (and that Burgo chap) to keep the announcement low key and to not make a big deal of it. Strikes me as the type that would want to just play football and get on with it.

Find out soon enough I guess

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
